Don't know about fighter seeing how you never really hear about him fighting people,
I was assuming he had the same overall skills Katniss did if they switched places.
Before I even read the part where Gale says the idea of closing of the entrances to the Nut I had thought of it.
I was thinking more along the lines of just blowing the entrances at the time I was reading it, to avoid suspicion of the bombers, instead of causing a rockslide. But I had no idea what resources they had so Gale's(and yours) plan was probably better.
Her father is dead, she has been in two Hunger Games, she is beat up in most of the 3rd book, and Peeta was being tortured by the capitol and she could do nothing about it. Give her a break.
I got more of the self-pity vibe. Most of what she thought and said was how horrible her situation is. When she did talk about Peeta, she said she didn't know if
she could go on. It's a slightly cheap example but I don't have the books with me so I can't get a better one right now.
Nevermind that people are dying and what you're being told to do would help thousands in the war effort, YOU can't cope with what's going on, so YOU should just shirk your duties and ignore everything except you and your problems. Granted, what she was going through was hell and probably would have scarred the average person, but most other characters were getting on with their respective assignments and I don't see a reason she shouldn't have.
I think she was trying to get the point across that lots of people die in war, even innocent people or the ones you like. Many people die in war so it is more realistic to show most of the people getting killed.
I see what your saying, and I agree.
Adding to what I said earlier, does anyone think the movie could have been darker? I would have a couple suggestion for the director, if it wasn't for that pesky R rating.
