Right now the budget just goes up and up and up every year and schools are slowly losing the chance of letting people in the future having courses that would catch peoples attention. I would really enjoy swimming as one of my electives, it would be really awesome and enjoyful. What do you think?

I love swimming, when I was in year 4 (9 years old) we went swimming I think once a week and I really liked it. It should be available for everyone and more people need to learn how to swim.

Really? The education budget keeps on getting smaller in my country because of the recession. Many schools have become academies (get little or no funding from the government).

I don't think it should be an elective. Swimming is a sport, so it needs to be an after-school activity like all the other sports.

I disagree. Take

Lifeguarding, for instance. Not that many people are going to stay after school to learn how to do that. It's optional and part of a grade, so it should be an elective.
