Many of you hate them... Im an emo girl...Yes =/. Why you hate them? (If you do) What do you think of them? Etc. I really, sometimes, think about suicide, and im not joking. But i cant say the reasons on here,though they are obvious.
People really need to stop grouping others. We are all different and should be able to express ourselves freely. None of us are perfect so for those of you who said emos suck, you suck just as much. We really need to stop judging people based on looks. I will admit that some emos look strange to me but I don't judge them as a person based on that. I talk to them and get to know them. This generation is so ignorant and selfish that it amazes me. We all think we are God's gift to the world. This generation judges each other so much that it causes pain and sadness. Look at the teenage suicide rates! Teens don't just go an commit suicide for no reason. When you judge someone, you have no idea what that person has been through.
...I think it all just boils down to the kids of this generation trying to find a new groove to be heard above all the other generations noise.

Emo is what Goth,Grunge, Punk, Mod, Hippie, Hoodie, Scat and Jitterbug was. There is no real difference in it, no matter how much of a new skin you put on it. The kids who subscribe to it are the same as the generations before. They consider themselves outcasts, rebels without a cause. They listen to music that makes their parents ears curl and they revel in the persecution that others that dont "understand" give them. They wear clothes that makes them feel "different" and talk the same Doom and Gloom that former generations of their age talked. Just know this: Someday, Emo will become the same thing that every other rebellious teenage trend evolved into....a clothing shop in a mall and a few dusty cds. The new generation will find their own spin on whatever angst their feeling, (I personally think theyll call themselves "Greens" and listen to techno mixed with whale calls) and Emos will take a seat next to their rebellious brothers in the nosebleed section of the pep rally bleachers.
Be depressed, if it makes you feel better. Listen to the music and talk about how noone understands you. But when you get a chance, take a look at the generation in front of you and realize that, more than likely, many of those old farts youre peering at were exactly like YOU.
its not the people i hate.. its the idea (i suppose) of being emo.. why be depressed.. why dress in black.. it seems fairly pointless to me... you may be abused and beaten and (insert your case) but still there are people fairing far worse than you...
the chains and hair and makeup just seem to be a little excessive..

i don't like emo's because they always think of death, hatetred, suicide, all that. and it's stuiped, they don't think of good things, like the positive.
Ok , once again , people have the wrong idea , Emos are just people who are over emotional , but this does not mean that they are always sad and think of suicide , I am emo , and if you see me , most of the time im happier than monkey who won a life time of bananas , its just that some people in the emo community add their own versions of being emo , by cutting themselves and being depresed most of the time , but in fact , "Emo" has no meaning , its just a type of music that a life style has been based on , Ashley Simpson's husband Pete , is Emo , but when you look at him , he is always got a smile on his face.. =p
@XeroGeez are you telling ppl with thoughts of suicide to kill themselves rather than get help? i sometimes think of sucide and if i do are u saying that i should die just because YOU think im attention craving or popularity? do u think that people like me should die if we have those feelings? why do you hate people when you dont know how people think? it sounds like you are a little bit angry at us for no reason except the thoughts of how you think we act.
when a person chooses to group themselves within a larger grup (the emo culture), then one could argue that it is appropriate to make grand assumptions of them based upon the predonminent traits found within their culture.
when you choose to forsake your personal identity to "fit it" within a larger mass identity found in certian subcultures, you forsake your self and are now a part of the whole.
I agree with dragon624 , you have no right whatso ever to tell people to go kill themselves , I don't get suicidal thoughts , and alot of emos dont either , yet if you beleive that all emos are suicidal , then well , your dumber than paris hilton xD
emo isnt a thing, its a style, i have plenty of "emo" friends, none of them cut themselves, but because they consider themselves emo, they tend to wear wear different styles of clothing, alot of skulls, darker clothes, whatever, its more of a way of expressing youself.
