Do companies and employers have a right to monitor your Facebook account? By monitor, I don't merely mean observe as a stranger. I mean demand your Facebook password so they can log in as you to monitor you.
In this case, a Michigan grade school teacher was put on leave and fired for ... not giving the school administration her personal Facebook password. The school asked repeatedly and she declined each time, citing personal privacy. She plans to appeal.
This also came up in the House of Representatives recently. The House blocked an amendment to HR 3309 that would give the FCC the ability to regulate companies that demand an employee's or interviewee's password. The amendment
