Since the popular thread from 2011 has gone to hell with outdated images, false page redirections and 4 blank pages of deleted posts, I think it's time to start anew for the 2012 community.
I'll start out by posting some strange (but real) sodas I found on Google. You can be the ones to determine whether or not you'd ever try any of them.
The label on the last one is real, but the flavor is fake. You'll have to learn the Jones way of doing things.
Chips are another favorite when it comes to bizarre flavors.
^ Those BLT chips are actually not too bad.
And, of course, the Canadian classic...
If you know of any strange flavors or you just happen to find some online, post them here. Pictures are always appreciated.
I don't know if it's bizarre or not, since I'm so used to the taste, but what about Rivella, our national soft drink produced from milk whey? I assure you it tastes good^^
Yes, for Americans at least, the idea of a dairy-based soda is pretty bizarre. You'll see I posted a picture of Milkis in the OP.
Seeing as I'm lactose intolerant, I'd only be able to drink Yellow Rivella; but since I also don't care much for creamy things, I'd probably just avoid the stuff altogether.
But who knows, it may find it's way across the Atlantic fairly soon...
I think they already tried to export it to the US once, without success... but maybe times have changed.
It's not really creamy. That Milkis thing does look rather awful. Rivella looks like beer and tastes like soda. Maybe a weak creamy note, but that's it.
The fact that it looks like beer was to my disadvantage when I was small. I used to eat and drink up rests, and one morning I finished a glass of Rivella lying around on the table. At least I thought it was Rivella...
A weird craving, considering that I have no idea what it tastes like.
Windex?
I can't decide which one of those flavors looks the most delicious.
Is that a joke? Caramel cream obviously! =P
But I agree, they all look great!
@ Rivella I think it would actually be less weird if they used artificial milk flavoring rather than real milk whey... I think the real ingredients are what's scaring Americans away from buying it! xD
Lol... a few weeks ago that would have surprised me, but now knowing that anything can be made out of bacon or bacon-flavored, it's just another item on the list of bacon products! =D
For those of you who can't see endlessrampage73's image (I am one of those people), the image is of seaweed Pringles (the green ones in the following image).
I think the real ingredients are what's scaring Americans away from buying it!
Americans are afraid of imported soda. Take Guarana Antarctica for example.
A delicious Brazilian soda available in the US, but you won't find it outside of Brazilian markets because there's virtually no demand for it in any other community.
I had a good laugh, several chokes and a few raised eyebrows from sifting through all pages I missed out on since my last visit to this great thread! Well, my turn again...
How about some food for the canniballistic minds among us?! "Baby Bologna"
And for dessert: "Ramen -, French Toast - or Tortilla Lime + Salt flavoured Chocolate"!
And to proove there's nothing out there that can't be stuffed into a can: "Ribs in a can"!
Do they chop up the bones and all then, or what?! Weird... (o.O)
@ Pringles Those flavors all look pretty good, but those colors do not do them justice!
@ Baby Bologna They say it's made out of pork, but who are they really fooling?
@ Chocolates The french toast flavor looks like it has the potential to be tasty... the other two, however, seem like they would have an unnecessarily over-complicated flavor!
@ Canned Ribs Those look pretty delicious, I'm not going to lie... but I'm worried about the consistency... from the description, it sounds like they'd just be soggy and flimsy rather than... well, ribby! xD
The worst are the boxes of pencil shaving and puke flavored jellybeans
Yeah, there's a reason why I don't eat those jellybeans! =P
