Since the popular thread from 2011 has gone to hell with outdated images, false page redirections and 4 blank pages of deleted posts, I think it's time to start anew for the 2012 community.

I'll start out by posting some strange (but real) sodas I found on Google. You can be the ones to determine whether or not you'd ever try any of them.

The label on the last one is real, but the flavor is fake. You'll have to learn the Jones way of doing things.

Chips are another favorite when it comes to bizarre flavors.

^ Those BLT chips are actually not too bad.

And, of course, the Canadian classic...

If you know of any strange flavors or you just happen to find some online, post them here. Pictures are always appreciated.

1000 posts. I didn't think a thread I started in the Tavern could generate so many replies. Except for the "General Relationship Thread" and "What did you learn today?" but, you know, stickies.

Funny you mention that. I clicked on the link to the old version of this thread and the first thing that popped up was...

The first ever image posted in MBFF. Let's have a moment of silence.

Speaking of beer, here is an image of the new draft beer-flavored beans that Jelly Belly has come out with (credit to @Bender124):

The color just looks so....poisonous.

Cola gumballs actually sound pretty good. I can't say the same for the popcorn-flavored ones.

I have to agree with that statement. Anyone who has ever tasted a buttered popcorn Jelly Belly can vouch for why 50% of the gumballs in that package will taste like a total disaster.

Although it does remind me of Ballpark Gum.

There's even a beer flavor. Go figure.

Sparkle Ninja Chewing Gum:

The two themes of the day appear to be beer and poisonous colors. Since this one is strawberry-flavored, it can only fit the latter, but it practically defines that theme. I don't know what it is about that glow, but something tells me if I put Sparkle Ninja chewing gum in my mouth, I won't live to tell the tale.

It's probably ninjas.

More like, gum and cake are ruining the bacon.

In just one day, Wine X magazine discovered this thread, saw your post and used your idea.

That proves it, I'm a visionary. Although my million-dollar-idea was to have the flavor confined to one bean rather than have the chewer mix them in their mouth, which just seems unnatural with jellybeans.

I'd hate to get the white flavor with yellow spots. If I'm unlucky, I might end up with buttered popcorn.

But seriously, I wouldn't try any of those, because half of the "good" flavors are almost as bad as the bad ones. Licorice, buttered popcorn, top banana, and caramel corn are all not worth the risk, and I'm not really optimistic about coconut or café latte either. That leaves four flavors that are actually worth biting into, and by that point, you've spent about $5 on 10 jelly beans.

This is my favorite quote, from the Jelly Belly site:

"You may think you're tasting our world-famous Buttered Popcorn bean, but what you'll be biting into could actually be Rotten Egg."

As if anyone could tell the difference.

These aren't real(as far as I know :-O), but I read in a book about sodas called 'malt marrow' and 'celery soda'. Yuck!

And I have heard of a garlic pepper soda. I don't know if it exists, but just the idea!

Actually, both of them are completely real, although from what I've found, Malt Marrow may just be an old brand of beer.

But celery soda is definitely legitimate, and can be found on page 99 of this thread. It also has a cousin named Mr. Q Cumber.

I haven't found that one, but I'm sure it could easily be concocted by cleverly mixing two existing sodas.

Switzerland made a garlic soda? It's creative, but not if you want your company to make any money. I can't imagine what drinking an entire can of liquid garlic would do to my taste buds.

@Ernie

If Wikipedia is correct the Trinidad Pepper is not the hottest, but the Carolina Reaper is.

Also since bender posted the Beans and frog here's another one from Harry Potter.

http://www.baronbob.com/images/products/preview/fudgeflies.jpg

I've had all three and they are actually all really good, with exception of some of the beans, which unfortunately I've tasted.

You'll want to wash it down with some Minta to ensure safe breath practice.

(Not to be confused with silent film actress Minta Durfee)

As was stated by yours truly in that same post on page 99:

The record has now been beaten by the Carolina Reaper.

Details.

*Most of the beans.

Seriously. Buttered popcorn, caramel corn and licorice? Who are they trying to please?

Old people? They seem to like weird, poorly-flavored candy.
