Since the popular thread from 2011 has gone to hell with outdated images, false page redirections and 4 blank pages of deleted posts, I think it's time to start anew for the 2012 community.

I'll start out by posting some strange (but real) sodas I found on Google. You can be the ones to determine whether or not you'd ever try any of them.

http://www.nicegraphics.com/chow/baconfest/syrup.jpg

The label on the last one is real, but the flavor is fake. You'll have to learn the Jones way of doing things.

Chips are another favorite when it comes to bizarre flavors.

^ Those BLT chips are actually not too bad.

And, of course, the Canadian classic...

If you know of any strange flavors or you just happen to find some online, post them here. Pictures are always appreciated.

Long post time.

Asian Pringles

Gotta love whoever organized that shelf. Asian, Asian, Asian, Asian, Asian, Sour Cream & Onion.

I can't help but wonder though what a sushi-flavored potato chip would taste like. Would it really be that different from the seaweed Pringles flavor?

I don't know what to say about this one.

Neither do I, seeing as ginger ale isn't exactly the most flavorful of beverages. But if the Japanese pulled it off, who's to say it can't be delicious?

Chicken and Waffles lays.

That flavor deserves to win. Seriously, it has to. It's by far the most creative of the three flavors.

That's an opinion, though. We'll let the votes decide who the winner is.

Some kind've green pepsi

Good old Pepsi Shiso. An MBP(epsi)F favorite, along with Pepsi White and Pepsi Ice Cucumber.

Japan is a great place for Pepsi.

http://i.ytimg.com/vi/XuwWP6W2oJ4/0.jpg

If you're wondering what Shiso is, it's a Japanese herb similar to mint.

Rootbeer milk

It's like a rootbeer float, but without the fun part.

I've always wondered, how can anyone eat at pizza hut and not look like a giant bowling ball?

I've been seeing Pizza Hut ads on TV for years and I've never actually been to one. I don't really eat pizza or any cheese product for that matter, so it may be a bit hypocritical to make a judgment call here, but Pizza Hut seems to have a way of putting cheese in places it doesn't belong.

They also don't respect traditional crust boundaries anywhere in the world.

Oh well, at least the Middle East is safe...

http://i.perezhilton.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/kitkat-poppers-from-pizza-hut__oPt.jpg

I spoke too soon.

I know the chicken wing soda has already been seen. But how about the others.

There's a link somewhere in the earliest pages, but this would be the first image of all of Lester's Fixins in one place.

http://lestersfixins.com/images/Lesters.png

But if you thought Lester was living the single life in the bizarre soda industry, think again.

http://www.lestersfixins.com/images/melbas.png

Unlike her husband's flavors, however, Melba's flavors seem to have a more obvious common theme.

Gotta love that pie. Melba also makes sweet tea.

Gourmet Doritos

Just like Pepsi, Japan is home to a wide variety of Doritos flavors you'd never expect to exist.

http://i744.photobucket.com/albums/xx84/no_photos_here/Doritos---Clam-Caravan---napaJapan_zps87d6e4f7.jpg

What other country would think of combining a gourmet meal with processed corn chips? The fact that beer also makes an appearance in three out of four of these packages hints that Japan may have a different idea of what a "gourmet meal" is than countries like the United States.

The most surprising thing to me, though, is that none of these "gourmet" flavors represent any meal that's even remotely Japanese.

Salty watermelon Pepsi

Refreshing and salty. Just like the ocean.

Fruity Lays

Fruit-flavored potato chips seem to be a distinctly Asian fad. You'll never see such chips in the States because Americans demand buttloads of salt in their potato chips.

Does anyone know if these or any other fruit-flavored chip are available in Asian supermarkets in the U.S.? I really want to try Potato Crisps brand potato chips.

http://img.21food.com/img/product/2009/7/15/kayidafood-10410130.jpg

International Lays/Walkers all look so interesting. What is it with America and boring chip flavors?

Conventionality beats creativity when it comes to mass-produced food in America. It's a sad truth for us MBFF-ers, but at the same time it does make foreign flavors all the more interesting.

Walker's, which is Lay's UK Name, certainly doesn't have much of a flavor filter, and in the bizarre foods community, that can only be a good thing. "BBQ Kangaroo" is now my second favorite Walker's flavor, dwarfed only by the only and only...

http://www.foodnrecipe.com/data/images/full/2012/07/24/1623-walkers-cajun-squirrel.jpg

You know what I could really go for now, though, is some delicious Japanese fruit-flavored Oreos.

That flavor deserves to win.

Only because Salmon Roe lays are exclusive to Russia.

http://www.morillas.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/lays1.jpg

Japan is a great place for Pepsi.

I can't tell what some of those flavors are because the text is either too small or too Japanese. Care to enlighten us further?

They also don't respect traditional crust boundaries anywhere in the world.

Those are the most creative and ridiculous pizza ideas I have ever seen. I can't figure out though why Pizza Hut decided to market certain pizza variations in different countries, i.e. why did they market the burger-hotdog pizza in Japan while the Kit-Kat poppers were only sent to the Middle East?

Just like Pepsi, Japan is home to a wide variety of Doritos flavors you'd never expect to exist.

They all make sense, except for the first one, which appears to be potato-flavored. How do you make a corn chip taste like a potato, and why would you bother?

You know what I could really go for now, though, is some delicious Japanese fruit-flavored Oreos.

I can't tell which flavors the green ones are supposed to be, but the non-green ones look pretty good.

They're actually Chinese, by the way. I found some more flavors.

That may top the list for Lays flavors anywhere. Even if they were available in other countries, I can't see myself getting into them because they just don't pop in your mouth the way real salmon roe does.

http://itresonates.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/srs.jpg

Salmon roe can be found in sushi, Lays potato chips, and now flash drives.

Top row, from left: Pepsi Next (USA), Pepsi Azuki, Pepsi White, Pepsi Pink, Pepsi Baobab, Pepsi Mont Blanc.
Bottom row, from left: Pepsi Dry, Pepsi Ice Cucumber, Pepsi Blue Hawaii, Pepsi Shiso, Pepsi Caribbean Gold, Pepsi Red.

Every variant except Pepsi Next is Japanese.

How do you make a corn chip taste like a potato, and why would you bother?

From top to bottom, the flavors are: German Potatoes, Salami, Sausage, Clam Chowder.

The German Potatoes flavor is flavored with potatoes, onions and bacon. Here's a more in-depth review on this particular flavor.

Gourmet Doritos flavors also include Sesame Chicken and Garlic Anchovy.

Good find, there. I was under the impression that they were Japanese because of the exotic flavors and the East Asian scripture on the container, but I guess China has it's fair share of interesting flavors as well.

Here's an interesting brief history of Oreos in China.

Well all these foods look pretty weird.

That's the idea, and of course, we're always looking for more, so if you know of any, this is the place to share them.

Ernie, how do you lead the world in finding bizarre foods? You always find 'em left and right... I gave up looking.

Why do they get to have all the fun flavors while we get stuck with the boring stuff? I would vote Pepsi ahead of Coke if every flavor available in Japan was available in the US of A as well.

The German Potatoes flavor is flavored with potatoes, onions and bacon.

I see now. So they're similar to Lays Classic BLT flavor?

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7116/7461676356_83c5c4dba1_z.jpg

Gourmet Doritos flavors also include Sesame Chicken and Garlic Anchovy.

That subliminal advertising is getting on my nerves. I don't see why they don't just make a beer flavor and get it over with.

Jellyfish salad

What part of that is actually the jellyfish?

According to the show I half watched(I missed part of it because I had to go somewhere) I think it is in Japan.

That would mean that the jellyfish must be in the form of thick white strands. Here's a more simplified version of the dish:

And here's a real jellyfish burger:

That's fake. It's definitely photoshopped. Look how noisy the jelly fish is compared to the bun.

Here ye! Here ye! I hereby declare this Bizarre food as fake! Throw out the blasphemer! (Adios terry!)

Italic the words that are sarcastic, that'll help.
