Around 1,500 Muslims protested today in the Macedonian capital, Skopje, demanding the release of the radical Islamists who were arrested by the Macedonian police on May 2 for the cold-blooded execution of four Macedonian teenagers and one middle-aged man while they were fishing in the Skopje area on Good Friday this year. The arrests were made following an intensive 3 week investigation.
Macedonians are predominantly Christian, while the ethnic Albanian minority that accounts for around 20% of the population in Macedonia is predominantly Muslim. In the last decade there has been an increase in incidences of religious extremism, imported by radical Islamists from the Middle East, but this has not found a fertile ground among the Macedonian Albanians. Islamist terrorists cells have been reported all over south-eastern Europe, including Macedonia.
The Macedonian police assured that the protest and march through the streets didn't take a chaotic turn. The radical Islamist protesters chanted "Allahu Akbar", "Death to Christians", "War on the Christians", and brandished Al Qaeda insignias.
The Macedonian police have arrested three of five suspects directly implicated with the horrific crime, the likes of which Macedonia has not seen since WWII. All the neighbouring countries have offered their support to the Macedonian Interior Ministry for the capture of the two remaining suspects, who are on the run and for whom Interpol warrants have already been issued.

You can google Macedonia News to see more, but beware, because some News Agencies make "mistakes" reporting that the killed are Albanians instead of Macedonians, which I don't believe is non intentional. Associated Press reported killings of 5 Albanians, got the Pulitzer price in the same day. They fixed the "error" after a week, beside all the comments and e-mails that they got from Macedonian citizens in the day they reported about the massacre.
I think that both the Albanian minority and Macedonians in Macedonia is brainwashed and influenced by other foreign forces for destabilization of the country in interests of others, like the Macedonian and Kosovo mafias who operate best on destabilized soil and of those who sell weapons on the black market.
I'm terrified by the thought of civil war that is taking bigger proportions among the people here. The "intent" of the terrorists who massacre 5 young Macedonian people is materializing before my eyes and I can't do anything about it.
The situation in Macedonia is quite strange actually, it's very stable for couple of years and everything is fine, just to be inflamed by someone within weeks that comes to shouting "War" or "death" on both sides. I feel that everyone with $10000 in his pocket can start a civil war, paying somebody to kill on both sides in the same week and everything will go bananas.
There are the political issues that restrain Macedonia to join NATO and EU, like the problem that Greek has with our name, which is more than obvious that has very bad effect on the stabilization of the Balkans.
On Friday there are another protests that will be held in couple of cities in Macedonia that are with majority of Albanian citizens. They demand releasing of the suspects and threaten with inflaming the cities if their demands are not fulfilled. The Macedonian police says that they have unbeatable evidence in court, but the trial in court has not started yet.
What do you think of this situation. Is it radical Islam, political struggle or some sort of foreign destabilization of Macedonia?
It's not radical Islam, nor political struggle or something else. The "war" between Albanians and Macedonians is not new. Something between these two ethnic groups that is there for years. And the question is; what triggers the "hatred" of Albanians toward Macedonians and the "hatred" of Macedonians towards Albanians.
The nationalistic or ethnic hatred is usually the card that politicians play before elections. I don't see true hatred between Albanians and Macedonians, I just see them as manipulated in the same way the Croats, Serbians and Bosnians were manipulated by the media in the Yugoslavia break up war. They are thousands of examples of calm and respectful business life that both Macedonians and Albanians have together, until somebody open the nationalistic card, of big Albanian state and ethnic clean Macedonia. I'm disgust by both ideas, I see them as pure primitivism and a way to manipulate the poor people into fear and insecurity and of course profit to those who sell weapons on the black market, which is huge on balkans. I just wonder why are people so stupid to be lured into these ideas, over and over again.
