@ Mage, Don't forget the insanity of NC! We just passed the anti-gay marriage thingy. I didn't go to the polls because I knew it would be voted down. But alas, we still have ancient folk out there who refuse to die off and allow the rest of us to PROGRESS!
Both parties are mere watered-down versions of their former selves. I'm so very disgusted with politics that I'm "unaffiliated" with them both. We simply do not have a Two-Party system anymore and I think the second term of George "W" Bush speaks volumes as to the pandering going on in DC!

I hadn't forgotten. That would fit with the point of being against gay marriage.

Yeah it often seems like a one party system pretending to be a two party system.
1) The slippery slope in the first is to communism, the second unsaid.
2) The weight of the people. I don't see any overweight people in the first.
So congrats America! In the past...whenever that picture was taken, probably the 40's/50's, all that's changed is the average weight of our citizens!

Good. Now we just need to lose 1 more party and we -might- get somewhere. You know, that thing about voting and making decisions based on the merits of an idea and not because some person belongs to some party.
Lmao! No overweight people "Back in the black 'n white days"... I'm speaking camera film, that is and yes, I still own a Kodak Brownie!
You know why that is? The fifties and sixties were still before central AC. Only the wealthy had it installed. Next, people were walking everywhere because the cars weren't air conditioned either. After church on Sunday afternoons everyone would "cruise" and take the family sedan on l-o-n-g trips to the mountains, etc because the house was so hot you didn't want to be inside until well after dark. Then, physical fitness was a big priority with the Kennedy administration and we kept it up until when? Until the '90's when PE was no longer deemed important enough to keep in the school budgets since the school board(s) wanted salary raises, perks, trips & hair cuts (in NC John Edwards had $50+ hair cuts on a regular basis until his scandal hit the news: he was having an affair behind his dying wife's back.)
So, when did obesity start becoming a problem with children? You guessed it, the '90's!
