Seeing as their isn't another thread like it, I present to you the Rush thread, a thread dedicated to the Canadian power trio that are some of the best at each instrument they play. So come all you modern day warriors, its time to rock with Rush! I'd say about anything goes in the way of discussion.
RUSH! I tell ya it was a fantastic concert I've been to last year! The band was fairly known to me, I had (counted) one CD of the band, but decided to go to the concert as a friend of mine told me it was an opportunity I shouldn't miss!
So... I had the BEST concert experience I ever had! Those guys understand what it is to put up a show! I can recommmend it to anyone to go and see a Rush show when given the chance!! =)
You lucky son of... I so want to go to a Rush concert, but they aren't going to be close enough to me. I have the DVD from their Time Machine Tour, so I can at least watch that. It is quite a good performance.
Time Machine Tour is a great concert to watch, the very concert I've been to... =0
So if you ever have the chance, DO go to a concert of them, because it's a massive trip into the history of Rush!! Even for a non-fan and that's something to consider there...
And be honest... what's a 100 miles if you get to see them live? Once in a lifetime... consider... =)
Rush has been one of my favorite bands for a very long time and I can't say that about many bands. Even as my tastes in music has evolved, Rush has remained a constant. Now I will admit that not everything they've done has been my cup of tea. Everything past Moving Pictures just got to synth heavy for me, but that's fine because I understand their want to constantly evolve.
Anyway, I highly suggest watching Beyond the Lighted Stage. It's a Rush doc that provides awesome insight.

Is that the documentary they used partly in their "Time Machine Tour" as well?!
I remember seeing parts of earlier performances woven into the whole show when I saw it! =D
And on a sidenote... you should have been a voter in the stickied CRBWC thread a few rounds ago... Rush lost by one vote and was kicked out of the competition! (o.O)
one of the most talented bands to ever grace music. now that they are on roadrunner records, im really excited. there is a possibility of a Rush/Dream Theater tour now
