Diablo 3 was released recently after much anticipation from Fans of Blizzard's games, and as the games flooded out the stores into the houses of excited gamers many of us are speculating.
Is It really that different from its predecessors? Is it going to take over from World of Warcraft (highly unlikely)? Was it worth the hype, or is it just a massive let down?
feel free to discuss this point further, you may add any points you wish (keep it clean and casual, no aggressiveness)
At least for me, in no way was it even slightly a let. They did good at adding plenty of new stuff, while at the same time keeping it the good old Diablo we know and love. I don't think it will ever take over from Wow just for several reasons A(Its also made by blizzard thus any blizzard fan will still love both equally as much. B(there both completely different styles of games, so both of the games will have complete different groups of fans.
it's a massive improvement to it's prequel...,story-line, map layout, etc. I didn't really expect much, seeing how Blizzard spend so much time on their games and build up hype but aren't really doing anything or are removing something from the game they screwed up somehow. It's not an amazing game, but fun none the less. I'm determined to beat inferno difficulty soon.
I don't have the right to say anything good or bad about the game, having not played it, but I still want to. I think the game is a complete waste of money and never should have been made. That's just my opinion.
It's a great, addictive and immersive game. The classes and combat system have great potential, can't wait to see what happens when PvP becomes available.
There's a huge difference from Diablo 3 in that characters are inherently more open - you don't have to commit to a build or attribute distribution, but you choice of spells and skills still matters seen as it's time-consuming to change them in battle. What's important now is adaptability and foresight.
It's not gonna take WoW's place because it's not intended to, nor does it appeal to the same niche. WoW is Blizzard's cash cow and occasional testing ground, and will continue to be for as long as they can milk it. Diablo 3 is a different game with a different dynamic.
Was it worth the hype? No game was worth the hype it was getting. That said, it's great, I'm loving it, and I'm eager to play the higher difficulties and with friends.

You sure were onto something there.
... I'll say something though. Dying because of server lag in a single-player game is infuriating. Not being able to solo-play a game I paid 60 bucks for because "battle.net service is unavailable" makes my blood boil with hate.
In that sense, Diablo 3 beckons a grim future in gaming. I get wanting to avoid piracy, but ****ing with the paying customer in order to do it is total BS.
I thought Diablo III was AWESOME ! In my opinion probably one of the best games yet (no wonder it's bestseller). I actually played it continuosly for 48 hours because i couldn't stop it's a little bit short (maybe 5 or 6 acts would have done the job), but those 4 acts were the best ever ^^ playing on nightmare mode now, waiting for Diablo IV
Lovely storyline, graphics and overall gameplay. The Diablo series is awesome. No offline option makes it really annoying though, and impossible for me to play on the laptop without internet connection. Both a big hit and a let down, I'd say.
