If you're planning on doing cardio exercises, I've always found disco or other dance music to be the best music to work out to... the beat generally works for fast-paced exercises and it's almost always positive enough to improve your mood!

Just speaking from my experiences of course... you may have a completely different view on what music would and wouldn't give you a better workout!

Well it depends on what genre of music you like. Before I play a game I listen to some dubstep, it really gets me pumped I don't know if you'll like dubstep though lol.

I would suggest any music with a decent enough beat in it, like dance music for example! =)

And if you don't like dance music in particular, you can always do what I do whenever I go to workout on my mountainbike: play uptempo metal and hardrock! 'Works out' perfectly for me!

Eye of the Tiger and Rocky I Theme. Both I find really great when working out.

It would actually be better if you had a tempo count on a loop to monitor your exercise, with music just in the background.

Dubstep playlist I listen to when I jog or workout in general:

Chrispy - Predator
Pendulum - Set Me On Fire
Example - Kickstarts (Bar 9 Remix)
Bassnectar - Teleport Massive (Bassnectar Remix)
Blue Foundation - Eyes On Fire (Zeds Dead Remix)
Nero - Promises (Skrillex Remix)
Ephixa - Lost Woods (Dubstep Remix)
Gemini - Blue
Skrillex - Breakn' A Sweat
Emalkay - When I Look At You
Rusko - Everyday (Original Sin Remix)

All of them can be purchased on iTunes I think, except for Ephixa's 'Lost Woods'; You'll have to download it directly from his website.

For some reason, 70's rock comes to mind. I'd recommend groups as Boston, Foreigner, and the Steve Miller Band. If you want to get truly pumped, this should probably do it for you. Usually works for me.
