"Like most games like this, there's no learning curve and eventually you go from challenging to Effing insanely impossible."
I'd like to elaborate on my problems with this game. I was stuck on level 19 (Out of 30, I believe?) because there's little to absolutely NO control over how your towns expand beyond terrain editing. On level 19 you're surrounded by two enemies, which the game has already done to you before a couple times but wasn't nearly as difficult. I try to expand northward to give my towns some proper space to expand and eventually attack. But it hasn't worked for me, because going south just runs into Red or Green, and they just expand their attacks too quickly. I don't even get the chance to rack up some reliable "mana" to cast some town-killing spells because as soon as the red squares run out, they get all their land back and they get their big castle-like units back.
There's also very little indication on how spawn rates work, what kind of benefits you get from expanding building units, or anything like that. I still barely know what the "Waypoint" ability does, and I think it's too expensive since I mostly use it near the beginning of each match to try my ****dest to "aim" my expansion but it never seems to amount to much.
I had a lot of fun with this game at first and was hoping to get to the end, but I think there needs to be a few updates. It gives us the story, but now it needs to actually explain its mechanics a bit better.
I have to fully agree with you. The game does not really offer expansion control or even attack control. I set the things I would like my people to do and hope that it happens ASAP.
Aye, indeed. It just needs a couple things to help, everything it needs is related to direct control. If the game got updated with the frequency as say, Necronater 2... I think Reprisal could be great.
This is something you should take up directly with the developer, as he or she is unlikely to ever stray onto the forums. Even more so if the developer isn't employed by AG.
I don't like how the majority of the game is played on autopilot... if you aren't going to give us a few basic elements of control, at least put in a fast-forward button for the sake of our attention spans!
If I wanted to watch little animated soldiers walking through a forest, I'd watch a video about little animated soldiers walking through a forest!
