I made a comment on s9b1's profile, but when I submitted it, a blank comment appeared instead of the intended text. I also made a screenshot for proof (in case the blank comment is deleted), which I will post here:

The non-empty comment by me is a restatement of the text I wanted in the empty comment. Why would a comment with text on creation have no text when submitted?

Probably a glitch as the user profiles have been experiencing a lot of glitches lately... sometimes the messenger box is even found to be completely empty as if all comments were deleted.

Another common glitch occurring lately is the one where the load symbol (the rotating circle) is being looped while waiting for a comment to be shown on a profile when having submitted it.

Same goes for the scrambled data in profile's abouts a while ago, allthough that has now been fixed again.

Glitches like these are why I copy every important comment I submit before hitting the submit button; just in case the comment fails to submit and I have to reload the page, I can still paste the same comment without retyping the whole thing.

I started doing this with game reviews a few years ago because I lost one of my most detailed ones to lag.

This is not an issue of a comment failing to submit. This is an issue of a comment successfully submitting but being submitted as blank. Therefore, copying the comment does not protect against this problem. Besides, I was able to restate it in another comment.

This glitch also occurs in the forums and is probably the same sort... the comment/post was actualyl submitted, but it shows up blank. However, when refreshing the page it eventually does turn up as it originally was made. Is this what you mean?

It's always empty. I know this because s9b1 has not yet deleted that comment, and it's still blank.

It doesn't solve the blank message problem, but it does solve the issue of losing your text. If you can restate it in another comment, you can easily just copy the text before you submit it, refresh the page and paste it into the comment box a second time if it shows up as blank the first time.

O ya. To add on to what s9b1 said, did you try and copy and paste something from the About that had HTML code(without going into the control panel)? If you do that they post will not show up at all. That happened to me.

@s9b1: I did not include any images.

@daleks: That must be the answer. However, I must now ask...

Why does HTML text from an about but not the control panel cause a comment to be submitted as blank?

It probably has something to do with the fact that it is coded in the About but of course doesn't show the coding so when you copy it without the coding it confuses the system. At least that is my guess.
