i would have to say either stairway to heavon by led zepplin

OR brick in the wall by pink floyd.

these two songs were on the number one on the top 100 hits longer then any other song.

Uh, there is wayyy too many songs that are amazing in every way to put an overall "best song" or "favorite song".

The best song is "Blame It On the Boogie" by the Jacksons, or "Let's Spend the Night Together" by David Bowie, or "Dare to Be Stupid" by "Weird" Al, or "Dream On" by Aerosmith, or "Collide" by Jars of Clay, or, or, or. Dang! This is waaaay to hard!

Stairway to Heaven is the best (not my favorite, but definitely one of them) Probably the most influential song in the world

too many to choose from. 4 sum reason tho, i must say that Break On Through by The Doors stands out for me. just love the beat and lyrics

Yeah, you cannot just pick one song...there are sooo many genres of music. Also many different people have their own opinions. So it would be literally impossible to pick the "best song"
