Great job with these avatars guys! Keep 'em coming! For some of you, I recommend also trying lighter and brighter palettes. For example, if you want to do a dark shadow, rather than going for grey or black, try a soft blue instead. It creates the illusion of being darker, but just 'glows' a bit better than a purely dark color. Also, sometimes using weird combination of colours can have a fun effect - like pink + turquoise + black or something.
