So you wouldn't mind having a job picked for you (trash guy) and having to do tit ir be exectued. No money systems are required in a communist society. Actually, a perfect communist society has no government.

Well I wouldn't care because I wouldn't have the personality to care about such a thing. I wouldn't even be me.

In a perfect communist society, nobody would care about what job they have.

Okay, well communism is an economic policy, not a government. There are governments associated with communism, but that is another story.
There are also different forms of communism - and some are worth looking at and some aren't. There are 2 main ones which Marx and Engels write about.

Wait. Can you list and describe the ones you are thinking about?

Here are some:

1) Primitive Communism - this would be represented by small villages where labor and the fruits of labor are shared by everyone in the community. Think of hunters/gatherers.

2) Utopian Communism - Marx reflects on this idyllic economy which would be based on Primitive Communism but would expand to a much larger society. It requires that the members of the society hold themselves individually accountable for the well being of the nation. Marx rejects this theory.

3) Marxism - This has a lot of names, including pragmatic communism. In the Communist Manifesto, this is the system that Marx and Engels argue for. Their main goal is to eliminate class conflict, which he claims is the source of most of the suffering in large civilized nations.

Later forms of communism, like Leninism, Stalinism, and lots of other [insert name]isms became instituted over the decades. These incorporated a governmental style with economic policy and really defined the communist principles that we think about today (although people attribute these off-shoots to Marx and Engels).

The forms of communism that we have seen are inherently unstable due to the selfish nature of humans. I think a mix of capitalism and socialism is probably the best form of economic system, but I just realized we're not talking about economics. Sorry!

Yeah... I guess I took the word "government" too literally.

I will make my own branch of communism.

Hehehe, Eshplodedism. Why not

But if you want to talk about economic stuff, I'm down with that. I think communist economic policy is incredibly intriguing.

dirty commies...communism is great if you're a lazy welfare chump, who doesn't care what happens in their life as long as its easy and the decisions are made for them. i own my own business, a real brick and mortar store. why should i share my earnings with you lazy bums? just because i had the initiative to create my own job, you think i owe you something?!

Well, in certain communist practices, your business would be easier to run thanks to government control and regulation over your products. You would be ensured of having business, your wages would be set and presumably lower (communist economies theoretically don't become as affected by inflation). But you're right, if someone came in to an already thriving business and turned it into a government run operation, you'd have every right to not be very happy about it.

any good government has a little bit of everything, because it's just a basic law that too much of something is a bad thing

Could you expand on that? Too much of something being bad does not imply that you need some of everything. And what is "everything?"

i would have to say that a democratic state would be a good thing, the republicans have been running it for too long and we need a change

I think you've gotten forms of government confused with political parties.

A true republic, like that in the ancient greek states is what I prefer. Our modern equivalent is "state representatives". But they stay in office too long, and seem to become jaded with wanting to help the community they were elected in, and get their head in the clouds.

thats the reason we elect them jeraga! if we elected someone that didn't help my community, i would hope they would lose their job!
