Dragons are feared by many and for good reasons. They are strong, wise, and quick despite their very large size and it's for those very reasons mankind has gone to great lengths to exterminate them. It is not so however in one particular kingdom secluded by high mountains and a seemingly endless fog. Humans and Dragons have learned and adapted to live in harmony and in fact most humans are paired with a dragon at a very young age. This has created a bond between the two so that now the two could barely live without the other. The oldest Dragon, Valin, and his current rider, Zane, are the current rulers of the realm bringing a long peace but no kingdom is forever without turmoil. Some many years ago a nasty rebellion took place between two factions, those who wished to remain in the safety of the valley and those who wished to conquer the outside world. The would-be conquers were ousted and the kingdom once again returned to peace because of the bravery of its current overlords. Peace cannot last forever though as new threats are making their ways towards the kingdom as well as old. You are one of the many riders of the kingdom whether you know yet or not.
Welcome, you are allowed two characters which I suggest should be a dragon and human. You may also choose two humans or two dragons depending on how you want to go about it. If you choose to be two humans or dragons, then I will myself create a rider/dragon for you. You can be any type of dragon such as a light dragon or a fire dragon. Feel welcome to combine any and make up a special name for it like a Dark/Psychic = Abyss Dragon or wind/lighting/water = Storm Dragon

Here's my two that I am introducing first (You may chose pictures to depict your character.
Name: Valin
Age: 380 years
Gender: Male
Type: Light
Race: Dragon
Description: A very well aged dragon of a white skin with a gold trimming. He has several scars that interrupt the beauty of his hide. Small spikes dot his back and his tail. His eyes are a piercing silver however his left has been going blind. He has four power legs in which the front legs also act as arms. He is incredibly intelligent dragon equipped with a silver tongue. He has gotten weaker over the years coming near to the end of his life.
Bio: Valin was only a young drake when the rebellion began which nearly destroyed the kingdom. His father and mother died fighting to restore peace to the kingdom, leaving him all alone in a cave with his brothers and sisters when Zane's ancestors discovered him and took him back to the castle. Valin's father had been the last dragon ruler and Valin was next in line so as the war waged across the countryside, Valin trained and grew until he was full grown. Valin and Zane's ancestor turned the tide of battle in favor of the peacekeepers and drove out the aggressive dragons and their riders. He watched his rider die and a new one be trained. Once a dragon is bonded, its also bonded with that human's bloodline so no other human could ride and control him. Zane is his current rider and the way things are going for him, he might be his last.

Description: He is a tall, fair-skinned man with short black hair. He is naive at times but he always learns quickly. His body is just as strong as his mind because being a battle mage requires daily training and study. He prefers solidarity although he is often surrounded by servants, guards, and other mages.
Bio: He showed magical ability since the week after he was born and better yet he display promise of becoming a rider. His father was the current king and rider of the current guardian Valin. He trained with his father to become a dragon rider and one day ride on Valin. When he was not training with his father, his mother would train him in the ways of magic and using magic in combat, both far and close. He didn't get to live much of a young adulthood as his father came down with a terrible illness that he could not overcome in his already old body making Zane the new king. He lost most of his freedom that day along with his father. He now was in charge of the entire kingdom making him the youngest ruler in the kingdom history.
I am open on any suggestions you might have.

Description: He is a tall, light browned man with short blonde hair. He is a left handed archer which prefers only the company of his dragon. He also has a scar on his right eye. He also always has 2 daggers which he puts on either side of him.
Bio: Born as a poor family, His mother had already died. He decided to become an archer in the army with his father and brother. During one battle, He lost his father and his only brother and got scarred on the eye. He no longer prefers anyone's company except his dragon, Chaos. He swore to avenge his family's death.

Bio: Chaos was born fatherless, and was with his mother for 40 years until the rebellion began. Still being young at his age, Chaos and the other young dragons was brought to a place far away. They lived in a cave for 20 more years. He never heard of his mother ever since. Then, Darren's ancestors found him and bought him home, where they gave it to Darren's Great great Grandfather. He was treated nicely, and became loyal to them. After his master's death, Chaos became a new dragon to a new rider. Darren is his current rider.
I can't see Valin, But Zane looks nice!
I have a couple questions. Are the ages for dragons relative to humans? Like it takes them, on average, 3.5 times as long as to mature and 3.5 times as much long to die? (Reach full maturity at age 70 or so and die at age 280 or so.) And how does magic work, how much magic do dragons have in them, what are the elements, and what are other magical creatures?
And bingu, I have a question for you. How does water+fire=snow at high speeds? I would think blizzard would be water+cold+wind.

Dragons mature around the same as humans as long as they get plenty to eat because when in starvation or instances of little food they go into a almost hibernation state which greatly impedes growth. Their lifespan depends on what they do, for instance if a dragon is in combat most of its days then it will not live as long say a dragon who did nothing but read. Dragons mature around 20 in terms of humans and the longest one can live is around 600 years at best. Magic includes teleporting, lighting bolts, fire balls, healing, enchanting, domination, and temporary boosts. Dragons are very magical being at base level but some have more than others. Elements are vast including: Dark, Light, Earth, Fire, Water, Air. Dragons can also be Undead, Psychic, Brutes(Fighting). And if you have a Dark dragon and a light dragon and they mate, then you get a combination.
I agree with Bingu, Blizzard would be more of a Water, Ice, Wind combination. I would suggest calling it a Steam Dragon or something similar.

It is the anniversary of the end of the civil war that once wreck the kingdom and people have gathered in the capital city of Talonlock to celebrate. Bright gold and blue streamers jump from building to building and flowers decorate below in beautiful arrangements. Dragon and Human alike are enjoying themselves, conversing and generally having a good time. Descending down from the sky is Zane and Valin, carefully landing in the center of the plaza.
Zane does not look especially happy to be in the middle of such a large crowd that also adores him due to his father and his lineage. It was also tradition that the current Human and Dragon rulers should make a speech and dress in their battle armor. Valin was no stranger to making speeches, he had made speeches that once inspired men and dragons to fight for peace. He gave a small smile down at his rider "Don't be so grumpy Zane, this is good for you to let the people see their king." he says wisely and Zane shakes his head with a faint smile because he knows Valin is right so to his discomfort he begins talking with them. Valin does the same but in a more comfortable manner as he makes jokes which incite laughter all around and talks so well people near stop and listen especially to his stories.

Description: a water elemental, made from... well, water. It's really rather hard to kill, though it's not hard to find someone who will try to kill it on the spot. As well as having a hard time blending in, Azure is pretty much screwed if Charon is ever killed.
Bio: not much is really known about Azure. No-one knows how it was created, including Azure itself. All that's known about it is that one day, a part of the sea didn't do what it should do. Then, a day later, a young dragon suddenly found itself a dependent.

Type: Styx (death/darkness+water)
Race: Dragon
Description: a powerful but young dragon with serious potential, wielding both darkness (specifically necromancy) and water. Has a deep tie with Azure; Azure will die if he is killed.
Bio: something is strange about him. His parents were killed by a particularly zealous paladin order on a crusade against both dark mages and dragons. It is a miracle his egg wasn't found and destroyed. Justifiably, Charon grew up with a deep-seated hatred of the "holy" light for which the paladins stood.
This is mostly gone now, but he still wants to destroy every trace of the order, still running strong, which patrols the world. Of course, this is all before he met Azure. Azure... well, Azure is a whole other story.
To Benni: The Bio is your backstory. It doesn't have to be long but writing one allows other players including myself to understand where you character comes from and why he/she is the way she/he is.
I love the attention so far however. I think this enough to start. You may do introduction. The setting is in my one post above. It is a festival that dragons and people from all over attending including the king and elder dragon.
Oh, am I allowed in? Because I can do different characters if needed.
Azure
Azure, sitting in Charon's saddle, watches the proceedings with silence. From his excellent view, what might be his equivalent of a smile flits across his currently human face. His form, painstakingly constructed to look perfectly humanoid (though of course made of water with bones of ice), is still.
Charon
Charon perches on a rooftop, near the festivities, with another dragon on a nearby chimney. Having procured an excellent spot by arriving early, he is happily watching the speech. A couple of his spies (undead pigeons) are circling, looking for trouble.
Of course, the Order Templar would just love to rain on this parade. Rain fire, that is.
(Just playing with your canon here. The Order Templar is an insanely religious monk order that seeks to destroy all forms of magic - including dragons, like Charon's parents. They have fairly powerful weaponry including gunpowder and also some crude rifling techniques, so they're pretty dangerous.)
(Of course, it's up to you to keep this so I won't be mad if you scrap the Order.)
(I like the idea however a i have a few changes or add-ons really. Their movement is called the 'Grand Inquisition' and they are a knight order. Monks are usually very accepting of differences.)
Valin politely moved away from his little crowd and onto a large stage and spoke loudly but with a kind old tone "Attention please!....Tonight we honor the sacrifices that were made so that we may keep this peace that has blessed our kingdom. It all this joyful celebration do not forget the revered dead. I have two announcements, both with considerable weight. The first, the army is preparing for the first time expand our land outside the safety of our secluded valley..." Several people have shocked looks "And the second it that within this year, I will leave this world as my body weakens." He says then stepping down, people are quiet in shock including Zane as Valin never spoke of it to him.
Zane rushes over to Valin angry and saddened "When were going to tell me? You are a great dragon, are you sure?" He speaks hastily in which Valin replies "I have fought more battles than any other dragon has in this kingdom and lived to a very old age, it is indeed near time someone younger took my place."
A dark shadowy, almost formless figure slither across the rooftops and watches not too far from Charon and Azure, unaware of their presence. Its eyes glow a fearsome purple. It was clear it had no good intent.
