I get bored at work, so I do 5 minute doodles. Hopefully the boredom doesn't die out, and hopefully the links work.

She's precious. You did really good on the shading and stuff, and the shoes are adorable.

You know what? No.

You are hereby forced to draw a guy next time.

Being a good anime/sketch artist means the ability to draw both genders. They complement each other and the different body structures improves your skill and proportional accuracy.

I didn't try drawing female characters until my Junior year in high school mostly because I was in an art class with a bunch of scumbags who would see any of them as sex objects and also proportionally bad, which would transfer to me. I was afraid of screwing up haha. I taught myself to draw both male and female characters anyway because they both have individual, unique styles. Goggles, short spiky hair and a trench coat look the best on a guy, and trench coats are lots of fun to draw.

Thanks for the advice Matt. I can draw and have drawn male characters but I vastly prefer female ones.

Haha maybe Ferret maybe.

I must mention again that many of the doodles I do are based on paintings/anime characters that are out there, but I can't seem to find the sources since these were done some time ago....I'm heading out to free-drawing now, but it takes time getting adjusted to. Hope that's fine, just in case of plagiarism claims.

Not usually a huge fan of Anime characters/art but I really like the sketchy rough outlines and you've got good shadowing. What do you use to draw them? (apologies if you already answered this.)
