I was worried when Armor games started putting up MMOs. Mainly because most of them are cash grab facebook style games. But now League of Angels is here.

Was the lure of money just too much for you? Do you not care what gets put into the MMO portal anymore? Or do you just not have people working quality control?

Lemme just list some reasons why it shouldn't be here;

1) Ripped off Ads - Most the ads I see for this game tell me to go play OTHER games. Footage from DoA, Touhou, and Scarletblade have all been used. Probably more and worse.

2) Stolen assets- Let's see we have icons from League of Legends, the name basically trying to piggy back on it, and a blatant Chocobo in the game.

3) Hackers - Seems this game is plagued with a lot of them if the actual game boards are to be believed. And the Devs aren't doing anything about it.

Armorgames, I used to like coming here. What the hell happened guys? Swords and Potions, okay odd but interesting. Last Stand Dead Zone, Great hope theres more like this in the future. Dawn of Dragons and all the clones like it, okay....please no more.

But League of Angels? This actually got put up? Why guys, just why? To fellow gamers, just avoid this cash grab game.

I will never play this game. But the fact that bad game or bad developer is allowed to put their game up here is what worries me. I feel Armorgames is just russing to become an MMO hub and we all saw how that turned out in the early 2000s.

AG is a free website, so they must generate money to stay as free.
Advertisement-banners woirk for a while, but times changes, the advertisement market is no longer what it was (harder to generate enough money).
So AG needs to tap other sources... so, as most other sites, they try MMOs... as other sites do.
If somebody spent money on a game AG get a lil interest, so thats why they add these MMOs to the site... if you dont like them --> ignore them.
And as long as people are willing to pay for those games you will see them on gaming sites..

AG was and still is a site for games (flash games) but they need to add these MMOs to generate money.

So I was right, they don't care what gets put up as long as it makes them money.

Good to know. I look forward to seeing the Chinese League of Legends rip off being put up in the future.

To an extent yes. Welcome to Capitalism.

Ok be it not as bad as selling out morals and beliefs for money like most Capitalist societies. It is almost impossible to improve or to run anything without cash. It may be a sad fact but what can they do?

Was the lure of money just too much for you?

Now the cause of concern for this would be if they were physically forcing you to pay cash. Are the makers forcing you to pay? Despite a system being run by money. It does however offer you choice.

Now if you know any other way to make cash for the website then you should get in contact with one of the site admins.

I've seen the game. Sorry, not interested in playing. +1 to all your points. Money is the name of the game.

Yes. I agree with most of you here. It's really sad to see developers doing this just to get players willing to shell off some cash for their so-called game. But I can't blame players who are into that sort of game. They say that one man's trash is another man's treasure.

@ pft

I don't know how else they would make money. This is Capitalism after all.

But I think the public image takes damage when you get a shoddy product put out. Aliens Colonial Marines comes to mind as an example. Myself, I have no problem with Armor games trying to make cash. It lets me keep playing several flash games I like.

However, when DRECK like League of Angels gets put on, I start to worry about what other moves they will make in the future. Maybe they will start charging us. Or maybe they will turn into a weak MMO hosting site(Those rarely turn out well).

Do I want them to not make money? Of course not. Do I want them to take money from a garbage Dev that lies, steals and flat out uses PORN(Actual porn not fanservice) as an advertisement tool? I would think the staff at Armorgames would be above doing that but it seems I'm wrong.

I'm assuming by 'them' you mean armor games. If Armor Games doesn't make money, they will have no way of paying for website costs. Websites aren't free, neither is maintaining one.
Does it hurt the image? Try playing the game before you make assumptions about it. Or, better yet, you could always make your own unique MMO to submit to Armor Games.

Well i wouldn't classify some advertisement methods as porn. I am sure that material is not allowed on AG. However some companies like to use a proven technique of using art work to attract. Be it erotic art which isn't really porn. I do think it is sad to use that method to get people to play but sadly erotic things sell well. The best thing to do is not to get pulled in by this type of advertisement but i am not sure of the possibility of that.

Capitalism... think about contracts... contracts with a company...
... League of Angels is from R2games, some other games here on AG are also from R2games... deny them releasing one of their products (if its not totaly breaking AGs rules in general... and its not AGs job to make sure they host only high quality products) could be
a.) against their contract so they simply cant deny it
b.) could damage/end their cooperation (loss of money)
c.) could easily hemper any cooperations with other companies (also loss of money).

Every site of this kind host crap games, flashgames and MMOs.
And most of these MMOs are crap. If you dont like them, dont play them, if you dont like a specail game, dont play it.
If you want better games --> adress this to the devs (but i dont think you have success), not the hosting website(s... they are more that host this game).

Do I want them to take money from a garbage Dev that lies, steals and flat out uses PORN(Actual porn not fanservice) as an advertisement tool?

Some games are total ripoffs, some are more or less ripoffs... stealing ideas and making money out of it... sometimes sad, but thats the way it works, and we saw this as long as games existed... and we surely will see it in the future too.

Using porn/sex as advertisement tool? Cmon, the majority of ads work with porn/sex... sex sells.

As long as this market runs (and thats up to the users worlswide, if they pay for crap, they will get crap) free websites will and must host this games.

I cant follow your fears, this "free to play MMO" system we see now could die out as fast as its growing up, but for now its a system that works, so many companies try to make money out of it, and so free hosting sites must participate in this sector too... to pay their bills. And yes, AG will make other moves in the future to pay their bills, but the core word for AG is free.
Some other sites that make that drastical change (turning from a free to a pay site) died because of this.

Are you implying League of Legends isn't a ripoff of DotA?

No. Check the first post. He's saying that League of Angels is a ripoff. You're off-topic.

No I'm not, and obviously you didn't get the blatant point of my post, so good job there.

He's complaining about how League of Angels is a ripoff of LoL, despite how LoL is a ripoff of DotA.

Well maybe if they have picked a better name I wouldn't have used "League of Ripoffs". Though I would use Ripoff, Cheat, Scam, or the like somewhere in the title. Heck it could have been called "Defense of the Scammers" if they had picked a different title to try to copy.

I don't mean rip off in the fact that they copied a game. I mean they ripped off the players, con'd them, etc etc.

You just followed my fears right there, so I don't know what you don't seem to 'get'. What happens to AG when it just becomes an MMO hosting site(and a bad one at that)? What happens when it crashes? What happens when one of these larger companies pushes for more control over AG in some form or another?

I like AG, I really do. But I don't like the MMO present it's in as a form of income and I really don't like what could happen in the future. All these facebook like MMOs and low quality scam games can't last.

Now if you excuse me, I need to work on Defense of the Devas, a game that uses things from WoW, DotA, and Halo which will get on Armor games. Why? Because I can it seems.
