Why is Master Thief marked as a hard quest? I beat it in under 30 seconds, not only without dying, but without losing a scratch of health. No weapons or modifiers were needed. With the exception of Quickie, it's the easiest quest in the game.
True, Master Thief is quite easy. CTF quickmatch on hard with 5 allies and 1 enemy = profit . Quests are mostly just grinding, 7 unique daily challenges...looks like I'll be into this next week as well!
Wing Man is a poorly formed quest, as I see it... it should be rephrased slightly to put it more in the player's control...
Complete the Sniper Support level of human campaign without letting your guy get killed more than once.
I changed "die" to "get killed" in the quote because the first time I played that level, my guy did not get killed by any enemies at all... I like to think I'm an excellent sniper... but the round was lost and the quest was not gained because my guy committed suicide three times, which meant that my playing abilities still did not have any impact on whether or not I earned the quest. There's nothing I could have done about that, especially because he had a habit of committing suicide when there were no aliens close by.
Is there a way to make this quest based more on the skill of the player and less on elements that are completely out of the player's control?
I got Wing Man on my second try, the key I feel is the weapons you choose to outfit your character with to make sure they can kill enemies quickly. When I was attempting it I was partway into the Alien campaign, so I had access to the Katana which saved my guy's rear end a great many times and killed a heckload of aliens, the rest is me making sure all his kills were easy pickings or quickly shot out of the way.
Didn't manage to get more than 1 star no matter how many times I tried since I suck with the .50 Cal, but I did get the medal instead.
Back Atcha' I got in the tutorial mission from sheer dumb luck deflecting a rocket back at someone.
The hard one for me is Super Star, those Deathmatches and Team Deathmatches in the Human campaign I can never seem to get more than one or two stars, and I'm not even going to get started with that Sniper Support mission and the one involvng Terminators. The rest is all some application of time and energy.
Super Star is pretty stupid because of the Deathmatches. Even flawlessly winning without deaths and more than double the kills of any of your allies often doesn't get you enough points, even if you had multiple high point kills. On a couple of them literally the only way to get 3 stars is to suicide yourself multiple times just so you can get more kills.
Seriously, there needs to be a large point bonus in Deathmatch for getting the most kills on your team and for going without deaths.
Super Star: Has anyone already got 3 stars in the 5th mission of the alien campaign (T-14 Terminator)? I have no idea how you should do it. I already killed the Terminator 5 times without dying, but this is the most I got:
This is the only mission where I don't have 3 stars. Any tips on which weapon to use to get the most bonus points? The problem is you need 189 points from killing. The last kill doesn't give any points at all, so you need 189 points from 4 kills which is 47 points/kill. For me this is way too much...
Oh no, not this reskinned game again... yeah it's cool, but I don't wanna play the same game over and over again for quests.
Come on armor games or whoever is in charge of these quests, give some other developers the chance that people will play their games. It's pretty easy to list a few shoot em up games out there on this site, give those quests, not this game again.
@TiSe88 - I haven't gotten quite that far yet, but if its a Deathmatch, just suicide a couple times with rockets. This will let you get more kills, and thus more points.
@Olinser - This strategy works well for Deathmatches, but unfortunately it's a "Team Elimination" which means the Terminator has 5 lifes. So it isn't possible to raise the number of kills...
@TiSe88, just another stupid one then, the 3 stars in general are very poorly thought out. Ridiculously easy to get in capture the flag or domination, yet almost impossible in team eliminations and some of the deathmatch ones.
All I can say is try to shoot him low, then sit in front of him and activate Static Field, rebound kills tend to trigger large point kills.
When playing vs the t-14, you need to let him activate before killing him the first time (deactivated has 5 base creds, whereas activated I think is 25-30), then, using a high damage weapon like the Blunderbuss or Burster shoot him in the head till dead (if you do it right you can get assassination, wrong has good chance of headshot).
Rinse and Repeat for all 5 lives, you can't let your allies get kills and you want to not die yourself (for Killing Spree)
I used this method and got it second try after numerous failings where I killed before activation (first try an ally killed him)
@Olinser@Jacen96 Thanks for your help, I finally got it. My strategy was to wait until my teammates shot the Terminator to low health. Then I was jumping above him and shooting down with the Blunderbuss. That way I always got points for kill steal, assassin or head shot, homeward bound and looper, adding up to 56 points/kill.
When you do this 4 times, you have enough points to get 3 stars
