Not a fan of these type of games, but I kinda like it so far
Got every one of the quests as soon as I logged in yesterday. Good game overall.
I have each one except for "God of War" (3 stars per level). Any walkthrough or suggestions for army composition anywhere for levels 19, & 22-24? The game's guide provides general strategy but I just can't get past the last stage in each level without losing some guys.
Found a walkthrough on YT, Tomasz Pietrzak made some 10 minute ones per level, for instance level 22 [url=http://youtu.be/ezl1RmiZHXY]. Still haven't manage to get 3 stars, but the general idea to have as much basic units + 2-3 clerics seems to be the way to start that level.
For the God of War achievement the strategy that worked for me most of the levels (especially the hardest last few levels) is to built up a immovable front line (in hold ground mode) of 4-6 warriors, 3-4 quickly moving rogues, and the rest of the units tucked behind that def line. That would be 2-3 priests and all the mages and archers you can afford. Have them in hold ground mode as well, so during the game you only need to move and monitor your rogues. Use the rogues to quickly kill high priority targets or harass the incoming enemies, the back line of archers and mages will take care of the rest, whereas the wall of knights will lure the enemies towards them with taunt (useful so that no enemy will leave the field)
As for upgrading the units during the game
* warriors -> knights
* priests -> cleric (mass heal and ressurect will make sure you will finish with no deaths) possibly 1 monk for def sphere
* rogue -> assassin (because of back stab), possibly one spy for their bonus against archers.
* mages -> red mages (awesome Aoe attack), possibly one black for mind control
* archers -> I used 50/50 mix since both upgrades are fairly ok. Crossbow will munch away the armour, whereas sniper also has head shot option.
The only variable that changes a bit is the start. It is either the money that will restrict you in what you can buy (1), or the lack of option to restock your units during the game and/or the time you have to buy (2) which happens when you have a lot of cash at the start.
(1) I would go for 1 mage, 1-2 priests and rest filled up with warriors and archers. If you can try to buy some rogues.
(2) Buy a cleric immediately, along with a red mage and fill the rest with a mix of basic units. Later on when you have loads of money you even could buy a second cleric and red mage, but the more attacking units you can built the better. Do keep an eye on the timer as with levels where you cant restock its a must to spend most (if not all) of your starting money.
For the final level (24) stick to the centre circle, have your 2 swordsman and 1 knight spread around the outer side of the circle and hold their ground, the archers/mages/priest in the death middle and let the 2 rogues do their business quickly taking down the evil archers/mages. Make sure you move your swordsman to the part of the circle where the attack is coming from as enemies will come from 4 directions. Add in the reinforcements to the circle, making sure the 6 knights/swordsman guard the outer side of the circle.
Kudo's for @GaryKasparov who posted parts of this strategy in the comments of the game. I took the liberty of rewriting it while adding some stuff.
5/8 so far
and now 8/8^^
The hide/disabling abilities of the spys is simply great to disable the witches/archers. Just one level to figure out when they came from and from which direction, place a spy there, maybe a second on the path to your army... dead witches...
When this game first appeared on the main page I didn't really get into it, but now that there are quests I put energy into getting them... and I gotta say this game is surprisingly filled with insane awesomeness!
Just a brief note on the quest God of War:
Each quest has it's icon from the corresponding game achievement but God of War. This icon in the game corresponds to the achievement "Earn 119 stars", so this was a bit confusing (for me actually, but I got all now). Great game and quests after all, I've liked it a lot.
Can anyone help me to get the detonated achievement? When do bombermen appear?
Done with quests. Once u understand this game its pretty easy.
