I got bored & the things I post elsewhere don't get me as much attention as I want them to, so I've come back to this site to throw art into the void & hope for feedback. I'll put 10 things here for now & see how this rolls before adding more. also today's my birthday.
& last but not least, some of the leftover sketches from the project i've been doing the last few weeks.

I have no idea how useful this is, but I'm hardcore procrastinating on multiple important projects, so let's see if this is useful at all.

I'm drawing a hand, since that's something you wanted to see. Hands are actually pretty easy for me because I've got it down to a science. I'm not sure how well I can explain it, but I'll try. Whenever you do anything with hands, the palm makes a shape. For example, the palm looks triangular in the OK! thing I'm drawing, but if you just have a hand sitting there, the palm is rectangular. Then you just stick fingers on & hey presto! It's a hand. It also helps to know where the muscles on the hands are, so you know where to put lumps. By the thumb & on the edge by the pinky are usually good places to start. Look at your own hands a lot, it helps.
Anyway, in this picture, you can see me go from a sketch to an outline. That's fairly straightforward, I think, but remember to do them on multiple layers so you can delete the sketch when you don't need it anymore.

This is also fairly straightforward. Pick a skin color & then fill it in.

Make sure you know where you want the light to come from, then pick a color for shadows & go wild with it on the skin layer. For highlights, I'm a little more careful. Make a clipping layer & draw in the highlights in some light color. It doesn't matter if it looks hideously bright at the time, because when you set it to overlay & turn down the opacity to taste, it usually looks nice & quiet. I forgot to take a screenshot of that.

Now's the easy part - take a brush with really low opacity & blend the ever-loving heck out of the shadows. For the highlights, erase lightly so it doesn't look as sharp, unless that's what you're going for. Add a dinky little background, & you're set! That's basically how I draw simple things. Haha I wouldn't say it's well made, but I'm glad I was able to help. The app I use for digital stuff is called Medibang Paint, and it's 100% free.

I'm trying to get myself in a festive mood for the holidays. I don't think it's working.
Finals are a huge pain, so all I've had time for are a few doodles of Vel'koz to decrease stress. Have a nice day.
Exams are over & I filled my sketchbook, so I took the opportunity to take a picture of every decent Vel'koz in there. I'm not gonna post all of them because that would make for a really long post, but the highlights, sure. Sorry for the bad quality, these are phone pictures.
In addition to that, I figured out how to draw him from the side as well. Finally.

Anyway, that aside, I've had mono for the past 3 weeks, so that's ruined my winter break & prevented me from doing much. Been feeling better the past couple of days, though, so here's a few things.
This guy in the jar here was created for a game where two people make up unique characters and then have to make them fall in love. My friend made a nice young woman, about 25 years old, with relatable characteristics. I put a bunch of space gas in a jar. Science!!!
This was for that same game with a different friend. I don't know what the heck this is & I haven't given it any defining qualities aside from the fact that it eats planets. My sister named it Gulch.
This frog thing is a dnd character I made almost a year ago to the day. I'm trying to convince my friends to let me keep this character instead of making me make a new one. Also I've never played that game seriously in my life but these friends take it really seriously, so it's an uphill battle.
Anyway I'm about to spend a ridiculous amount of money on required software I don't want to own so I won't fail my classes, so I'm sure everything I make after this will look sad & dead because that's a lot of money I could've spent on something else. Happy belated new year everyone, or should I say "to the one person who comments regularly in my thread"! I appreciate your comments, Last4Skull, it's more than I get on the other 3 websites I post things. have a good day

I'm not suffering from mono anymore, but I am suffering from a horrible scheduling mishap in some of my classes. Still, I've had some time to doodle.

Here's that obscure series character again, this time with correctly drawn clothes. I like to call this piece "Dying, but in an aesthetic way."
I made up a new character and decided this is somehow the father of the green one with tentacles and orange eyes. At some point I should probably explain all my original characters just so I can refer to them by name without it being too confusing, but what kind of nerd has original characters in THIS economy?
I made up this dude mostly so I could practice drawing wings. I need a lot of practice drawing wings.

Also, I finally settled the deal with my dnd character & drew a sequence I actually like a lot of her transforming into a frog. I was gonna post it, but I suddenly can't find the image files at all. Maybe next time.

You're actually spot on, that's exactly what he is! He's the strongest god out of the other ones I've made up, and he makes sure everyone is following the rules. I haven't come up with the rules yet.

Anyway, I've been really unproductive recently, and also found the transformation sequence for my dnd character, so here's a whole lot more art than usual.
That's not actually her final form. It's still up for debate.

This character is really fun to draw.
In this picture, he's really angry. You can tell because his eyes look like that, and also his halo turned pink. He usually doesn't get this angry.
This is kind of a sketch of what he looks like without wings covering his body all the time. When he gets angry, he eats people with the mouth on his chest.

Last but not least, I randomly got inspired to draw something at 3am last night, and that's this. I haven't drawn anything nice with pencil in at least 9 months bc I love using pens.

I guess my next post will just be me explaining all the characters I made up ^^ I've got 7 of em.
