Ok, I know that im a newb but in the 2 days of being a member, I have noticed that people in the top 10 and 100 dont have very much variety in their points.

Most of the people in the top 10 have about 100-200 forum posts and maybe 5 merits. But then they have an astounding 4000+ comments.

So I had an idea that to be in the top 100 you had to have at least 200 forum posts(as an example), 1 merit, 1000 comments, 100 games rated. And then do the same thing to get into the top 10 but only higher standerds.

I don't think that would be fair to them, and by that point they should have way over that specified amount plus merits are fairly difficult to get because there are tons of spam comments and few decent comments to find in all that spam.

Seems unfair to the top ten.

I couldn't really believe finally getting into the top 100, which is a place people rarely get into, and being told "Sorry, you don't have enough of this or that, no top 100 for you." It would probably make me quit, and I'm sure some other people around the site agree with me. It's basically taking what you've earned away from you.

@ florglee.

Charlie is right, there is a law about websites and junk, I really don't remember what it stated, but it is against it to allow youngsters on this site. Besides, that, if you really think that getting into the top100 is a big achievement then you need a life

Kingofgames-6 merits and only 363 forum posts.

Wow, i didn't know KoG finally got some more merits! No seriously, he had 3 and said he was going to quit getting them cause they were too hard or sumthing lol.

Anyways, while I do agree that sometimes only the people who talk talk talk on their profiles, like I do half the time, I'm going to say the battle for Profile Comments being worth 0 AP, people to stop using only Profile Points to get into the Top 10, and things like that, are long over and reside in only those who can change it, if possible. A requirement to be in the Top 10, ouldn't be such a bad idea...for some other ranking system, which I'm not sure, but this one would just make people furious about why they don't get to be up ontop of the world when they have (e.g.)50.000AP from various things and are a merit off, while some other User has only 20.000AP from various things and is on top because they're the highest ranked user with 5 or 10 or 15 or whatever Merits.
I could really care less, Top 10 is way too competative, and every time I was there 5 people used to pass me cause I was at school and I'd have 50 comments from Top10ites(Top 10 worshipers) telling me they passed me XD

He would be Carlie who is a she. Seriously guys, I don't know where you get the 'h', or miss the whole 'female' thing on my profile...

And I don't make the laws. It is required on interactive sites, such as this one, that all members be above 13 years above age. That has to be our rule, because it is the law. But this is besides the topic at hand.

AG is really changing isn't it Carlie...At the start of the year we were worrying about people reaching Wood Lord by spamming!

Overall...I am half-half on this issue. Yes, I find it a problem that SS has about 6000 comments and not as many forum posts. However, he spent the time socialising...and so he deserves the points. Everyone interacts with the site in different ways.

In my opinion...once you get to 5000 comments, you shouldn't get any more points for it...and you can only increase your points by forum posting and getting merits.

Another problem I have with some of the top ten is that they have rated about 900 games. Now, I don't mean to criticise...but that is a lot of games to have played enough to give a fair rating.

Think about it:

855 x 10 = 8550
8550 / 60 = 142.5
So that's 142 and a half hours of gameplay.
10 = The approx. time it takes to get a feel of what to rate the game.
60 = The number of minutes in an hour.

Now, SS has been around since the 5th of April, so that is 119 days.

119 x 24 = 2856 hours.

Seeing as he would have to have slept for an average of 9 hours on those days.

119 x 15 = 1785 hours

Also, since he is 14, he would have had to have spent at least 4 hours on average (including weekends) at school.

119 x 14 = 1666 hours

And you can't expect him to have been on AG all day...he might have played sports or at least done something else...I would say he would have been on AG for a max. of approx. 8 hours per day.
So...

119 x 8 = 952 hours.

So that means, that if SS spent 952 hours on AG since he started, then he would have had to have spent 15% of that playing the games.

Now, seeing how he has over 7000 comments...taking on average that each comment would take about 1 minute to write...

7000 / 60 = 116 hours.

So that means he has spent another 12% of his time on AG writing those comments.

So that equals 27%...and my whole calculations which I have been working on for a while don't really come to anything...

But still 142.5 hours playing games? That is a little over the top...

Oh well...

If anyone can use the above statistics in any context...that would be handy! My point is that I don't believe that he would have played all of the games that he has rated.

Trust me it doesn't take him one minute to write comments.

Also I have 900 games rated. Before I only used about 2 seconds to decide a rating. That was about 2/3 of my gamees rated (600) including my short comments on each of them. Trust me its kinda fun looking through weird games. Noq I spend about 10 seconds per rating and write a long post when I feel like it (which is usually never).

Well that peopel who joined in April, ya look at them! all the oldies (atleast february) know whta they are doing.

What, what the heck am I talking about.

However, he spent the time socialising...and so he deserves the points. Everyone interacts with the site in different ways.

Yea that would be good.

Back to the requirements.

Well some poeple change how they get their points.

Well I never had merits until I was ranked 20 or so. I was mainly based on Forum posts. Then I was based on game rating on comments. My basing would have changed over time. I never had merits. Some people don't. But you get encouraged over time to get some and keep on trying. Then that changes your basing. Everytime somebody says something important your basing slants a little to another thing. Yes there are always those ignorant people, but you base usually changes from games rated, comments, forum posts, and merits. So it wouldn't be fair to restrict someone into someplace where you can change.

The interesting part of what Im saying if you don't want to read the junk I posted above.

If this requirements thing does workout.... How would it work out for your ranking??? What are you ranked??? What will you be ranked next????

Lets just take this idea and split it apart a little.

How about we a seperate leader for each, games rated, comments, forum posts, and merits. Then we don't have to [ut requirements, we could have seperate leaderboard. Just for each one and the other one for AP altogether. This will show.... Um i dunno. Whatever my post ends here.
