I have a link to a NY Times article: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/15/science/15brain.html?em&ex=1200546000&en=3d0d451cc8672382&ei=5087%0A
Sorry, I don't know how to make it an actual link, so just copy and past it or whatever. But the article presents a pretty compelling argument against our actually being here. It's pretty heavy stuff, so if something doesn't make sense, let me know and I'll try to explain it. But I'd like to see what you guys think about all this.
hm they got a server error.......could you tell us the main things in the article???? i want to have things to think about during waiting until the server error is fixed.....
The server should be working, I just checked the link. Make sure you get all 3 lines right next to each other in your nav bar. There article is so in depth, that it's really just better to read it.
great theory but i understand not the half of it with my smalll english. i will translate it to german tonight and tell you tomorrow. its really interesting and i'm curious about the facts!!
the arcticle is quite long and the tehoryis not deprived of...originality
i'll read it through during the week End and post a complete advice and analysis afterwards. ATM, I just read it quickly and the facts exposed surprised me...
Yeah, it is pretty long, but it's totally worth it. My mind is still blown. I mean, they call us philosophers bad about this... now scientists are bringing back Descartes!
Man, I just can't believe this isn't freaking people out! Maybe I'm just a big dork... well, actually that's probable. But it's even more probable that I'm just a big floating brain.
Oh, I know I'm kind of late to this conversation, but some advice to make a link is to click on that " Some BB Code allowed" right above the post box. Well I'm going to try to make a link for the article and hopefully it works.
So what it is suggesting is that we might be living in a fragmented universe or there might be another fragmented universe where it half mimicks our universe?
It's just suggesting that the probability that our universe is actually here is very very low. It is much more likely that your entire existence (if you even do exist - I'm not sure) is more than likely just as a floating brain. None of this is real.
