First, even if it should, this is something that would be impossible to enforce. In fact, I think it would be impossible to even legislate. How exactly do we define pornography? Is it based on the intention of the producer or the use of the consumer? If it's based on the intentions of the producer, then what's to keep someone from just saying that a picture is art? The porn industry has actually made a shift in the past 5 or so years to become more "artsy" - whatever that means. If it's going to be defined based on use, then a painting like Birth of Venus could potentially be considered pornographic if someone wants "get off" to it.
Also, it would seem that if something is already legal, we would need to give an argument for why it should be made illegal. This is a huge industry with billions of dollars at stake. We can't illegalize it on a whim.
It should be up to the opponents of pornography to provide a cogent argument for making it illegal. Otherwise, why on earth would anyone listen?
I... Don't even know what to with this thread... The old one appears to have been locked purely because it was necro'd. I could possibly unlock it for continued discussion, but I guess we might as well have it running all over again.
Also you wouldn't stop porn by making it illegal, there is no way to stop the constant stream of fap fodder being uploaded every second on the internet and women's magazines would see a sharp rise in profits the day after the law is passed (if we are only talking about guys)
I agree. Pornography should be illegal because it is immoral and God looks down upon such terrible habit. Those are facts. When a person watches porn, they feel the need to want it, which makes them have sex with people they would normally have waited for. Because they didn't wait, they couldn't stay in a relationship with that person, which results in them feeling sad and they feel like the only thing to make up for what happened is for them to have more sex. They have sex with more people and because they decided not to wait, again, they break up and become even more depressed. Pornography also makes people gay. Either guys get tired of looking at women and decide to become gay, or the guy sees a penis and decides to become gay. I don't know which one of the two, whichever sounds better. Pornography makes people want to have sex with animals. If it didn't, then why is there porn of it? Also, my mom caught me masturbating... stupid porn.

Lawls ^ Porn, well, where should I start... First amendment protects it here, and there would probably be riots if it was all deleted all of the sudden, but really, it would be hard, if not impossible to actually ban something like porn, especially with the internet.
I particularly think the world would be better without a distraction like that, especially one that takes potentially useful people and dulls their minds like so.
Pornography is free speech, so it shouldn't be illegal. It may be a distasteful type of free speech, but it is pretty tame (and mostly harmless) as far as distasteful speech goes.
I don't know why it's illegal. What laws does it break? It has no reason to be illegal!
Again, until we get a clearer definition of "ornography" I think the discussion is moot. I don't see a definition that will capture all instances of what we intuitively think of as pornography while excluding intuitively non-pornographic material.
I mean, really whether or not porn should be illegal is a trivial discussion. Of course it shouldn't. As someone already pointed out, it is a clear violation of the First Amendment. I think a far more interesting discussion is to try and define pornography.
can't seem to find the robot chicken vid with people rioting after a new virus started deleting porn on hard drives and the internet.............rioting ensued

That actually happened? I thought it was a myth!

Is this good?
1. Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal.
2. The presentation or production of this material.
Nah, it didn't actually happen, Robot Chicken is a sketch comedy show that uses dolls. All I can make up of it is that the episode is number 25 of season 2 and it's the last sketch of the show titles : Omaha's number 1 news team
