I just saw the movie, and I'm surprised I couldn't find a topic about it here. I loved the movie. Although around the end I was getting really confused. Anyways, what are your thoughts on the movie, and more specifically, the ending?
My opinion is that, it the spinning top, will stop. But I'm not entirely sure. My mom thinks that the only person who made it out of the dream was Saito. (The guy who got shot.) I'm not sure why. I think there are two possibilities.
1. Cobb woke up, and after the screen faded the top stopped.
2. Cobb is stuck in Limbo forever.
I think that if the real ending is #2, then there is a chance that EVERYBODY envolved is stuck.
I think that the most likely option is #1.
Once again, what your your thoughts on the movie, and on the ending?
i havnt seen it yet, but every week it seems there is a new movie i want to see, but icant go ever week. Well maybe i can but i dont. I Want to see this movie though it looks cool
Even if this gets locked, people can still see and look at it. Also how do you know or care about those endings if you've never seen the movie, more importantly if your probably ever going to see it.
Thanks for putting **SPOILERS** instead of locking this
Anyways, if you havn't seen the movie, you should have NO idea of what is the plot of the story, therefore you should not understand the ending I posted. Although that could still pop up in your head when you're watching the movie...
In my opinion, the whole movie was a dream from the start. Watch the beginning scene, or think about it. Then ask yourself, "how did he get there?". The fact is, you don't know how he got there, there are no scenes leading up to it and no explanation of it. Even if you look back at when goes it to that scene near the end of the movie, there is no explanation as to how he got there. If you remember in the movie, Cob said that the best way to tell if you are in a dream is to ask yourself, how did you get to where you are. Also, chronologically the beginning scene does not make sense. It goes from old seito at the beginning to young seito. The whole movie there isn't really any time jumping going on except that beginning scene, so it just doesn't make sense for it to be there other than to lead you on that the movie could be a dream.
Another thing, the totem that Cob is carrying around is actually Mal's totem, according to the logic of the movie, no two people can share the same totem so it is essentially meaningless.
Also, look at the repetitiveness of the dialogue throughout the movie, especially the lines about "taking a leap of faith". With multiple people who are seemingly unconnected saying that line.
