first, I always upgrade my hero to very high because he's the strongest, and as lon as he's alive, the team will not lose.
second, for upgrading the hero, always remember to add for the attacks like mindblast. This is for you to get lvl up easiser.
Third, for your teamates the shadowlings and the ice spriggle are more flexible because they travel faster and can fly around.
