I am completely new to Flash, even though I have it, and only know how to make simply little animations with it, and no idea how to make games or the like. I would like this thread mostly about how to begin making games, and also useful hints, tips, and references new programmers like me can refer to.
Youtube has some good videos. I've tried looking on google for good tutorials but they all throw packages at you which is really teaching you much. So the best place to learn actioscript is to go to your local library and borrow a book on it or even better buy one if you have the money. I would recommend an O'Reilly Learning actionscript 3. Or even if you have more money you could go to cartoon smart and he has some very good programming and game programming videos.
