I created this thread for anyone that is interested in discussing mathematics. I don't think that this thread is a [dup] and if it is, it was not intended to be one.
The first thing I will say is that I know the value of:
e to 12 digits: 2.718281828459
pi to 25 digits: 3.1415926535897932384626433
I hope that this thread will be a successful one.

I've been on AG for 64 days now and I have 3610 AP; how much do I earn each day? I know it; do you?

Yes, you have gained 56.40625 AP average each day, based on the above figures.

Anyone can post an equation or question for someone to solve.
I will post the first one:
2*log(x+5)=log3+(2x+7)
x=?
(I know the answer.)

Can we solve half the equation and let other people finish it?

If you want to, although I would prefer the whole thing and the only x in that equation to be shown.

2*log(x+5)=log3+(2x+7)

Is that certainly your question? Because that would yield a complex answer.

2*log(x+5)=log3+log(2x+7)

If that's the question:

Then,

=> log (x+5)^2 = log (3*(2x+7))
=> log {(x+5)^2/3*(2x+7)} = 0
=> (x^2+10x+25)/6x+21 = 1 ....(x >(-7/2))
=> (x^2+10x+25)= 6x+21
=> (x^2+4x+4)=0
=> (x+2)^2=0

=> x = -2

Correct answer, congratulations.
And you are right, I forgot to put a "log" in, sorry.
(I had it in my original, but not in my update for it.)

This isn't really a discussion about mathematics it's more like a general equation thread that involves no discussion whatsoever.

I suppose I'll contribute to thread anyways.

1+1+1+1+1 = very hard.

1+1+1+1+1=5, and that is easy.

It was actually meant to be, but not necessarily. (Look at the title.)
If you want to, you can start a discussion, though.

Well, the Math Thread has superseded this thread, so go post there instead.
