Use parentheses or put it after, if you really have to do that, though I think such information belongs in the opening post, not in the title. Such tags are usually there because a mod has seen a reason for clarifying the topic at hand because too much babble was said unrelated tot he real topic, or for updating the newest topic at hand (see the various art contests for that).
But no, it's not against the rules, it is just going to be really annoying.

The point is that, depending of the topic, things placed there can render a small slice of comical relief. Example:
Ninjas x Pirates --> (Kiaa x Yarr) Ninjas x Pirates

I think I already knew about that.
But no, it's not against the rules
Hmm... That's very good. But that leads to my first question there.
It isn't annoying to thaboss, just confusing. For instance, he thought this thread was locked, because it had a tag. It was only after he clicked on it and saw the reply box that he saw it wasn't locked. Also, he was wondering why Cenere put "[like this]" in the name until he read the title a second/third time. It's just kinda confusing to use the brackets.
(like this) It's against the rules to put custom statements before the topics's titles?
would be better than
[like this] It's against the rules to put custom statements before the topics's titles?
Wasn't Freakenstein using the braces at one time? Or someone?
{}[]()
The braces look more like the brackets. Confusing to thaboss. And braces are fancy. It should be braces for admins, brackets for mods, and parentheses for users!
Parentheses for users, brackets for awesome mods and me
I don't know who uses braces for tags but don't use them myself; it seems like more work than is necessary. I use brackets because I'm a sheep. If I feel like renaming a thread to include something, I use parentheses to clarify.
Taking some time to reply to this before going to bed for the next 13 hours...

Roger721 hopes thaboss takes no offense by his question, yet Roger721 asks thaboss why he didn't looked for the padlock thingy that appears near locked threads?
Or, just don't use them at all. It makes you look like a stupid head.
You're just saying that because you don't have anything clever to put in a tag...
PWN!
Just kidding...
Parentheses for users
Hmm... That sure thing would rule out the "is it locked?" confusion factor... that will do the trick, yet...
...What about braces { } ?
They sure...
...look more like the brackets...
but are like a hybrid... so... I can't decide which one to choose...
But you're an awesome mod too!!
Agreed. That probably makes me look bias, but, I think that, at least at the moment, all mods are awesome.
[No, you can't use this, because it will annoy people] {You probably shouldn't use this either, for above reason} (If you have anything to add to the title, use these) -This does not look real good, unless you use it as below-
I am a title - I like statements.
Though, as mentioned, specifications and details and what not should probably go in the opening post, unless it is something that will change/need to be changed in the future, like the theme-page combo of contest threads, topic for the weekly movie thread or something similar. Anything else might be considered confusing and makes the title unnecessarily long.
