This thread is just what the title says it is. It is all about Math. You can post math jokes(the jokes don't have to be good), math questions, what you like about Math, or even why you hate Math.
My math joke: Resistance is not futile. It is voltage divided by amps.
I am good at addition and multiplication 3 + 2 = 5 5+8=13 and 2*2=4 4*2=8 8*2=16 16*2=32 32*2=64 64*2=128 128*2=256 256*2=512 512*2=1024 1024*2=2048 2048*2=4096 4096*2=8192 8192*2=16384 Because I learned accounting in high school.
I took Honors Algebra II so I am probably not the best person to ask. You learn Parabolas, Circles, Ellipses, Hyperbolas. Lots of graphing and solving for X. Hopefully someone else is better at explaining.
My AlgebraII class dealt mainly with factoring polynomials (x+2)*(x+3) from (x^2+5x+6) and reverse. You then get to solve prime trinomials via the quadratic formula.
The magical part of AlgebraII is the part where you get to play with imaginary numbers, rooting negative numbers, and rationalizing root fractions. Ahhh, those were the days...
Daleks and Freakenstein, thats pretty much what my Math II class consists of. We completed most of that early on, so we've been doing binary lately. I'm not so good at that.
I'm in Alg. II and I LOVE IT!!! It's awesome and right now we are doing polynomials. I just fully understood how to graph functions of x like f(x)=x^2(x-6)(x+5)^3
Circumsize the perpetrator (circumcenter, perp. bisector) You go to the orthodontist (orthocenter) to fix your teeth, which are up and down(altitude) Thats all i can remember right now. There were others but I have it all straight up memorized.
Proofs were definitely the worst part of Geometry. The shapes were fine, I like numbers, but proofs are just... No. Just no.
I don't think they're that bad. They just take a long time to write things down. And my teacher allows us to use abbreviations; e.g. theorem --> thm triangle --> [draw a triangle] postulate --> post
Wow, this thread is really starting to kick off now... Um, since I'm taking business math this year, I don't really have any cool eqations or problems to show... Oh, and how many digits of pi do you know?
