Queen 1971-1991 20 years of hits (they're still together but that's when Freddie died)
Queen has spent more time on the UK album charts than The Beatles. Also, they've sold more albums in the UK than The Beatles. Freddie even recorded the vocal tracks to songs he knew he would die before they could be completed. Freddie Mercury basically died from having sex with too many partners and John Lennon was murdered. I think dying from too much sex wins out over being gunned down in the street.
As for having a word invented i.e. Beatlemania how about the phrase Ready Freddie? That's right Freddie is Freddie Mercury.

The way you put it, it's like the density of hits and quality of their years was even remotely comparable. Guess what, they weren't.
As far as major classics go, Queen has A Night at the Opera and, depending on who you ask, Sheer Heart Attack. The Beatles have 4-5 albums at that level of classic quality and influence. Not to mention truckloads of album-less singles that they wrote because they were just. That. Good.
Queen's 80's output can be largely uninspired at points, dotted with a few great singles here and there, but really not comparable with their early years. Their best Greatest Hits album was released in freaking 1981! Meanwhile you can't even release a Beatles best-of without people complaining that it doesn't include some songs. Release their entire discography in a huge box and people will buy that crap out of that.
I love Queen and all, but it's not even funny how much The Beatles are better than them.
Do you think that the beatles are the biggest/best band ever?
Biggest? There's no denying that they're the most recognizable band in the world. Best? That's a pretty bold statement considering there were more important and better bands out there.
What other bands can be classified as as good as them?
The Mothers of Invention, The Beach Boys, Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band, The Residents.

Don't forget A Day at the Races, News of the World, The Game, Innuendo and Made in Heaven. Honestly, I do agree that The Beatles did write more great songs than Queen. The sheer volume of songs the Beatles wrote is staggering but that doesn't mean they're better than any of Queens songs. Queen still spent more time on the charts than The Beatles and Freddie put his life and soul into every high note. Lover of life, singer of songs. I really really love The Beatles. There's only one band that I love slightly more and that's Queen.

More important? Like who?
"The Beatles combined [rock and pop] and were bigger than Jesus."

Who else made a bigger impact on the world of music?
Before we talk about which band is better than the Beatles, we have to determine what it means to be "the best".
When I say The Beatles is the best band in the world, I mean so in the sense that they were the most popular. I couldn't tell you the numbers to back this up, but you'll have to take my word for it.
I believe the reason why so many people loved the Beatles was because they were such popular icons. Not only did they have very catchy music, but their names were very well known. When someone talked about The Beatles, they talked about Paul, Ringo, George, and John. I believe this helped the band gain more popularity, because people loved them at a more personal level.
Not only did The Beatles evolve, but their music did as well. This is what probably pushed them into fame more than anything. There are some absolutely AMAZING bands out there, and it's very rare that a band can have such variety in their music. I believe it's because The Beatles were able to have such varied, yet amazingly well done, songs, that really helped them fly above everyone else.
Musicians tend to pick a formula that works, then stick to it. Bands generally stick with a single style of music, a low variety of instruments, and they tend to stick with the same one or two lead vocalists. The Beatles, however, played many different styles of rock/pop music. They experimented with an insane variety of instruments. And although Paul and John did most of the lead vocals, they were able to get a great deal of variety out of their voices. They would sing in a large variety of different styles, and the fact that they had such varied music helped to make each song's vocals sound almost entirely unique. They did all of this, and they did all of this well.
The Beatles were loved at a personal level due to everyone knowing their actual names (except for Ringo's, which was a stage name -close enough-). They had arguably the largest variety of music that was done consistently well. They made a number of breakthroughs, such as playing for over 55,000 people at Shae stadium (which was absolutely unheard of at the time), and being the first band to play a song on television that was watched globally around the world (which further increased their popularity).
*Random Fact: Apparently the screaming at Shae stadium was so loud, nobody could even hear The Beatles play their music.
Now, I said that The Beatles were the best band in the world because they were the most popular. But were the Beatles the best musicians in the world? Again, we have to ask what it means to be a good musician. Did the Beatles play the best music in the world? Probably not. Did the Beatles play the greatest variety of top notch songs? I'd be very hard pressed to find any other band that even got remotely close.
Admittedly, though, The Beatles are only my second favorite band of all time. My favorite band is actually Pink Floyd.
The Beatles might be great, but they're legends for touching the world. What makes "the best" band really depends on what you think "the best" should mean.
The problem is the band's recognition. The Beatles Played the pop- rock, which was much more popular in the 1960's and 1970's than many other bands of that era. If we're talking about Queen, yes they had a lot of massive hits. To name a few: We Will Rock You, We are the Champions, Another one Bites the Dust, Bohemian Rhapsody, all great songs. They were in more of a niche, though. They were popular, but the beatles were way more popular. Most people can name more beatles hits than Queen hits. As far as other bands in the same league as the Beatles, there weren't many. Elvis Presley is one.
If we're talking about who put out the better music, that's a matter of opinion. My favorite music genre is metal, mostly because it takes so much skill to play, and be good at it. That is going to differ from another person's opinion, though. You can't say which band is better than the other simply by who you think puts out the better music. You have to look at who is more popular.
I am a major Beatles fan so yes, the beatles are, and will always be the biggest/best band ever in the intire universe. They broke so many records and sold so many albums and CDs, it's CRAZY! They wrote and sang songs that they wanted to write and sing, not of what was popular at that time. Their songs are unique and will always be loved and rememberd. John Lennon will foreverly live in our hearts! Although a very close second band would be Queen, love them both!
The Beatles and the Rolling Stones are two of the biggest bands I think in the last 100 years. The Stones, if I'm not mistaken, are STILL touring, and the Beatles music is still being played on radios everywhere. There is a resin for that. Also, Frank Sinatra is a huge name is music history. And I'd feel absolutey awful if I didn't mention Michael Jackson and Elvis on the list of great artists in music history. Elvis' songs are still incredibly famous so man years after his death and Michael Jackson is a song and dance icon.
