I really love everything related to the Japanese. They do a very awesome job in everything especially games. Some very good examples of excellent Japanese-made games are: resident evil, final fantasy, kingdom hearts, okami, etc...

They are really able to make great stories and great gameplay.

Don't you agree that the Japanese are awesome game makers?

Yes there are plenty of amazing Japanese games, but they don't necessarily make "the best games ever". There are lots of really good games made by non-Japanese developers. To list a few games/series:
Grand Theft Auto, Red Dead Redemption, Uncharted, Bastion, Minecraft, Elder Scrolls, Fallout, the list goes on and on.

Clearly the Japanese are not the only ones making great games. Also, like all other developers, the Japanese can also make bad games. *Cough* Final Fantasy XIII *Cough*

Ugh this again.

In recent memory, the Japanese game market has really pulled itself out of an awkward stage. Dark Souls, Shadows of the ****ed, No More Heroes, and Skyward Sword are all fantastic games that show the prowess of the Japanese game industry.

Their games are most certainly a far cry from most Western titles (Sweden's Battlefield, Canada's Assassin's Creed, 'Merica's Halo) and are by no means solely privileged with the title of "Best Games Ever", but it's a style of game from a region that's worth noticing and where video games first took root. Were it not for Nintendo fixing Atari's mess, we might not have our GameBoxes 100's and DoomStation 12's to play teh Unchartedz, teh Haloz, or teh Skyrimz on.

I don't agree...at all. Japanese games did make history, but in my personal favourite games, their are not a lot of Japanese games. I don't think Japanese games are, in general, any better then other country games, and rating video games by the country they come from is too vague and hard to judge. It's easier to judge a game corporation.

i have to say yes they created the first mario game which increased gaming ideas and before mario were crappy games so the Japanese r our gaming heros.

True, but think about it. the chinese/japanese is slowly taking over, one way or another. I think.

Too be honest, I think the Japanese Video Game industry was stronger before then today. At least that's the perspective of a Wii/PC gamer.
(When I say video games, I mean video games and not the consoles and technologies).

Chinese... don't have a Video Games industry. And what are these "ways" you speak of? Chillz is confuzzled.

Indubitably. Judging a game just because of country of origin is a practice that should be avoided. However, assessing games in general that come out of a specified region post-release is a valid method.

What's "heros"? And to suggest that "first" is synonymous with "best" is an amateurish argument.

I'd have to partly agree. I love Sonic, Pokemon, and Megaman. I wish they'd have an english version for all the games.

I really do enjoy the Japanese style of games, especially the JRPGs. I wouldn't necessary say that they make the best games ever, but the quality of Japanese games is generally high. When given a choice between Japanese vs. other, I am biased towards the Japanese games. Japanese quality in general is good. My Casio watch and calculator are super dependable and durable (well until I lost my calculator).

I suppose they do make some nice games. Super mario bros was revolutionary, and japan made some nice refinements to the game(there is a super mario bros), but otherwise, they just aren't changing. Kinda like political opinions .

Yeah to be honest there isn't a lot of Japanese made games out there. But they do a good job but most of there games are similar to "Anime". Sort of annoying and the Japanese voices are bad. But all in all, the deliver!

1 There aren't*
2 just look at the Mario and Pokemon games. There are more of them than most most big western companies made. Just look at Nintendo alone, they make a lot of games, and you must not forget that some games just don't get translate and don't show up outside Asia/Japan.
