I couldn't find this thread anywhere so apologies if it already exists.

What's everyone's thoughts on the practice of euthanasia on a patient who asks for it? What about withholding life support for someone who is clearly not going to wake up?

It is Bad, Imagine your whole family loves you very much and you have a small brother who looks up to you and because of some difficulty( probably bullying) You lose heart and decide to commit suicide, Suicide are for Cowards and there is always a punishment for Cowards,(Hell), I apologise if this was Off Topic.

What if you had a wasting disease that would cause you to slowly and painfully die with no chance of recovering?

Explain Samson who is honored for pulling a building onto himself. Does that mean suicide is only ok if you kill others while doing it?

One thing people should realise, is that calling suicide bad, or a sin, does NOTHING to prevent it. One does not simply decide to suicide on a whim; it is the expression of a deep trouble and calling it bad won't make it easier.

No one will ever claim that suicide or euthanasia is swell. It isn't a fun thing. But there are situations where euthanasia is understandable, and even humane; usually for medical cases, accident or age related.

Most people are understandable with putting down animals who are suffering. When it comes to people other things come into play. Most is religion based, the fact that you suicide is an automatic life in hell. Putting the story telling aside. It is in our nature that we care for things and end pain of those suffering.

Is it better to let someone suffer months of their last life and unable to do anything or just put them to rest?

Yeah no, that is -not- how you present a counter-argument. You do not just see the argument presented, wave your hand and therefore dismiss it. You have to explain your side.

Now, can someone explain to me, without the use of some poor anecdote, why one shouldn't have the right to end -their- life?
