The 3DS is the first handheld device capable of 3D graphics, so I guess that's cool. I also like the games. You can also take it wherever you go, and the Spotpass system is cool if you know how to use it. The battery holds up a lot better than any of the Wii remotes every wished to, and the graphics are slightly worse than its console counterpart.
The only thing the Wii has is that it has motion. There's nothing else the Wii can do that the 3DS can't already do.
I don't like 3D graphics. At all. If it were up to me I would abolish them completely so I would never have to see them or hear of them, but going against popular demand for personal reasons probably isn't the best approach.
I'm also not big on handheld gaming. If I don't have a mouse or a controller I simply don't play the game. Not to mention that it's on a pretty small screen. Why play a game on a big screen when you can play it on a screen 100x smaller? Not my idea of logical thinking.
I do, however, like Brawl, and I also like the idea of having a console that not only plays old Gamecube games, but also can incorporate the Gamecube controller into a decent selection of its games. I'm not big on most of the Wii games because the whole "motion" thing gets in the way of my preferred gaming experience, and if it weren't for Brawl I probably wouldn't use it at all in favor of the Gamecube, but it beats handheld gaming any day no matter how many dimensions the graphics are in.
well ernie one reason why one might like a 3ds or a ds better than a wii is because they make kingdome hearts only for 3ds/ds(idk about ds) and different games and more of different variety and portable and not motion
