Most movie adaptions turn out to be flops, whether they be based on a video game or a book.
The video game ones generally do, but I wouldn't say the same is true for the book ones. LOTR, Harry Potter and of course The Hunger Games are just a few examples of movie adaptations of books that became box office destroyers.
Let's be real, they managed to get 2 enormously successful movies out of the same book (Deathly Hallows) just by splitting it in half.
I want Mila Kunis to play Samus!
Who cares who plays Samus? She'll be in her full-body armor most of the time anyway. It wouldn't matter if you put Sarah Jessica Parker or Jack Black in that suit (but it would be pretty weird when Samus took off her mask).
what about that new movie thats coming out with john c riely as an arcade game character and he skips through different video games (cant remember title)

There's always a scene where the girl takes off her outfit to sleep, take a shower, or a bath so I don't think Jack Black would look sexy. xD
I'm still waiting for confirmation on the Bioshock movie. Too bad that no studios will back it with the R rating that it would have to have to have any accuracy to the plot and mood of the game at all.
any of the Legend of Zelda games would be awesome movies
My only issue with a movie based on a video game would be that it be based on one of the actual games as opposed to simply the franchise or the lore. As a huge Legend of Zelda fan I would love to see it on the big screen, just not following any of the story lines we already know.
Personally (and reading the topic I would have thought it to be one of the first ones listed) I believe a Warcraft/World of Warcraft movie would be amazing. There's so much lore they could work off of that it would be original and the games have so many fans already that it would be highly anticipated.
If you've ever seen any of the cinematics for the games (more-so World of Warcraft because it's more recent) you would know Activision-Blizzard has the capacity to take on such feat and make it brilliant.

How about a movie based on the first incarnation of link?
