Quite some time back. They were fiddling with the stuff and it got taken away. Testament to how long ago it was that I don't quite recall the exact reason though.
I don't believe we were ever informed as to why this feature was removed. One of the many things that just up and vanished during the maintenance that occured this past spring.

Even if that was the admins' thinking, which is doubtful, it didn't really work because people noticed the feature was gone within hours after its removal.
It was probably removed accidentally somehow in the process of eliminating the adbots.

actually i was just thinking that it might have dissapeared around then because i think that was around the time that i noticed it was gone and i didn't see it being reported in the forums so that's my explination
