I attempted to log in maybe 15 minutes ago with the username and password I've been using since forever, but strangely the site informed me with the little red box of doom that my username and password combination could not be found. I tried entering the same password about 5 more times, each time typing the individual letters more carefully, but every time I got the same message.

I was under the impression that this was just another aggravating glitch, but at the same time I was worried something had happened to my account; so I reset my password (except I reset it to the same password as before) and I attempted to log in again. It still did not work. I realized the problem must have been with that password, so I reset it entirely and attempted to log in one more time. My heart was racing at this point, but I was able to log in using this new password (hallelujah).

Now, as an AG veteran/enthusiast/dangerous addict, not being able to log in can be quite traumatizing. What exactly did I experience, and am I going to have to go through all that again?

Happened to me earlier. Not sure why, but once I reset my password it went back to normal. We could've accidentally changed the password while editing the page, or it's another glitch.

I've gotten a report from another user that it's happening to her as well, and, considering how difficult it is to "accidentally" reset your password, it's pretty unlikely that three users changed their passwords on accident in the same day.

I could've done it some other day. I'm always logged in (not sure about you guys) and tend to make small changes to my profile once a week, but today I accidentally pressed the logout button and when I went to log back in I got the message.

It's possible that it's a glitch that only occurs if you update your profile. I rarely do that, but today I did just to test something and even though I did not click outside of the about box, it could have triggered some new glitch.

Most of the time I remain logged in, but since I haven't been on my own computer for the past week, I've been logging in and out a couple times every day. This is the first time I've updated anything in weeks, so it's possible that simply updating anything on that page will somehow reset your password.

However, that does not explain why I wasn't able to use my old password when I reset it to that.

Update: I just logged out and back in again to test the magnitude of this glitch, and I think you're right, this is related to updating your profile.

In which case, until this is fixed, I advise that nobody updates anything in their profile until further notice.

There could be an issue when you delete the part in SteamID. Whenever I go to control panel it has my username there, and before I update my profile I always delete that part.

Yeah, I had the same thing happen to me. This morning I tried logging in with my password, but there was a red box that said it couldn't find my username or password. I was afraid about it, but I checked my profile before logging on and everything was fine... So I thought of resetting my password, and I used the same one that I already had, and that actually worked. But every time I logged out I kept having to reset my password before logging on again. It's been a nuisance to me.

which also deletes the part in the password section*

I updated my profile a second ago and am swiftly regretting it.
I best be able to log out and in.
I have the password/log in saved, so hopefully that keeps it.

I tested it and experienced the same problem as earlier. So I conducted another test: Delete the part in SteamID but type in my current password into the empty password slot and update, log out then log back in, and I didn't experience the problem.

I also just did a wee check, and experienced the problem in reverse.
I clicked logged out and it was "unsuccessful" so i updated my profile and logged out, it let me. When i logged back in there was no issue (maybe because of auto save). I repeated this and once again got "unsuccessful" when attempted to log OUT.

I already got a thread for this, but mine took 4 hours to log in...

Just reset your password for that matter.

Just be logged on the whole day. Saves you a lot of trouble.

AG2 is being glitchy for the the past few weeks. Not that many Admins are fixing as they are currently busy with AG3.
