As my first thread like this seems to be closed (censureship of uncomfortable question?), I repost it, hoping for opinions/answers.

Please remove all those PAY-MMO's and DEMO's from the New Games overview - or better: completely remove them from ArmorGames!

It's annoying!

Thanks!

PS: I don't care how much money they pay for it to ArmorGames!

will you pay their share instead?

I'm sure AG would be happy to rid themselves of those things if you would compensate them for it.

Why does there need to be paid a share anyway?

I mean, it was possible without until now afaik...

Of course I know the greed is big in the world! :c

Businesses don't work that way. They obviously won't remove games they get money from because some people don't like them. Just ignore them.

This is the beginning of the end of ArmorGames - at least for me... :c

they run a business here at armor games, not charity, it's either they have advertisements and things like this, or you have to pay for an account (option not available but if there were no paying for something in some games or adds then you'd have to pay to play here) so which would you rather have, paying for a few games that you don't have to play meaning that you don't have to pay, or pay to be able to play most of them

AG just needs some ads, which they are starting to do. That's it.

Let me saw this, once a gaming website turns to these pay-to-play games, its the immediate decline of their site. zone.com was once good, and now its garbage. Same thing happened to Pop Cap and various other sides.

AG is mainly volunteers. Look how long its taking to get the new system up and running. This site is headed in a direction regardless or not if you all like it. Its only a matter of time before you have to pay to play any games with a free gimmick of "free accounts" to lure you in.

Yes, its a business and its selling out.

Can't tell if oblivious
or trolling.

Armorgames hosts and still hosts plenty of FREE games. Aside from the cost of a computer, electricity, and internet access, Armorgames offers a FREE service to it's users (just like Addicting Games, Kongregate, Xgenstudios, Miniclip, etc.). You don't need to pay a monthly subscription fee to enjoy the games, and this isn't like an arcade where one play costs a quarter or so.

The site needs to make money somehow. So how do you do that? Introduce some advertisements and some pay-for-extras MMOs. Without it how do you think AG pays it's employees and maintains the website?

The MMOs aren't replacing the free games, so why be angry? AG is still offering just as many FREE games, so feel FREE to ignore the MMOs and play the FREE games as FREELY as you would like.

Actually, that's exactly how good business works. If people who go away decrease traffic and ad-related income more than AG gains from hosting MMOs, then it's in their best interest to remove them.
Question is, how many people will stop visiting AG at all because of their dislike of pay2win games. My guess is not enough to make hosting them unprofitable.

reason for this thread

Thanks for input everyone (except Clausse, moron). Well, I think Emrakul made an interesting post. If enough ppl will leave AG for the aforementioned reason, it will render the effort to make ca$h useless and even negative.
I, i.e., have moved to another nice platform by now, I'll see how things develop I guess.

/sry for double post, it seems to have swallowed this text...

Normally when a site starts with those paying MMO game it turns into that but AG isn't going that way. What I've been seeing is that the good game builders are making the good games premium and those games no one likes are free. On the other hand AG need those MMO just to be there because site maintenance isn't for free so having some adds and those MMO while generate money to run AG better. So the paying thing is actually starting to grow but not by AG but by some users.(NO OFFENSE)

Unlikely. Competent people won't stop using a site that offers thousands of free games just because of a few MMOs. Like with most things, ignore the garbage and enjoy the jewels. MMOs won't be significant, there're only a handful of them out there, and ArmorGames probably won't be able to host most of them. As long as they provide free games, it's all good.

Just checked Kongregate, they have a total of 89 MMOs and that site has been around for the same as AG. 89 MMOS out of over 60 thousand games. AG has around a dozen MMOs out of over 2600 games. Just ignore the insignificant number of MMOs.

yeah i've read some of that and i think you guys were right about that it might be the downfall of AG. but of course as matrix said only a few, yes that number is increasing but if you'll look there are hardly any plays on those games compared to lots of others so they'll probably die down and eventually stop making them
