Hey guys, just wondering if there are any others who play this game. Seems like there aren't many. Anyway you can post tips and your favorite characters and general game play strategies here.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 for me...my favorite video game of all time.

Seems like there aren't many

A lot of people that try it don't seem to like it because, simply, it is too complicated (even though, in my opinion, it is really simple)

Game play strategies for me? I mostly like to play as a created player, and tend to either join the forces of those I really like (Lui Bei, for example) or those that are kind of the underdogs (Zhang Lu, Lui Zhang, etc). I try to focus how I spread my empire (if I am a ruler) on one area (I usually like to start in the southwest in the Nanman area, the move up and focus on getting the west side of the map first...I also gain areas so I have each one having multiple areas to back it up in case it is attacked), while bolstering defenses on the other, so that when I go for the kill to gain total control, I can work either a pincer attack or a dividing attack.

One tip that I always use, get yourself friendly with someone that is strong (whether it be strength or intellectually, which I tend to keep my focus on with characters I play as) while also younger than you. Build the friendship so that you become oath brothers with them so when/if you die, you can play as that character and continue your empire

Hi pantongshu, glad to finally see another player. As for me, I like Romance of the Three Kingdoms 11 and 12. I agree that the game is pretty easy once you get the hang of it. While I have the English patch I also have the Chinese version because I can read it. I usually kill the weak people and only ally with people stronger than me. I usually kill Liu Bei because then i get his officers. I almost always play either custom or Lui Bei.

We are quite the rare breed haha

I usually kill the weak people

I usually tend to keep the weak people as well as the strong ones (usually, though, only if I have a fairly good sized territory). I have the weak ones more towards the back of the territory away from any battles and have them work on the province to get more supplies and gold for the rest of my territory
