There are rumors going around that the Halo Movie won't make it to cinema's until 2009 now! Obviously this is a big deal for the Halo community so we will keep you posted! Here's hoping that we see Halo Movie this year!

Halo Movie First Person???
More rumours are circulating around this week that the Halo Movie will in fact be in first person view. We certainly hope not! There is a topic over in the Halo Movie forums where you can voice your opinion.
Cortana the main character in the Halo Movie
In surprising news, it appears the strongest word on the street is that the Halo movie main character will be Cortana! Master Chief will obviously be involved in the film but suggestions are that his role will not be a main one. More news as we digg it up! I don't have high hopes...as much as i love halo(3games&4books...) i wanted to see a CGI film. If they put the same effort into it as Beowulf, and made it entirely CGI, it would be sooo much better. OH well....it should be interesting none the less. Even if it is centered around cortana...
I have only read the first book. This movie sounds to me like it will be mainly about the prelude to Halo and the creation of the Spartans. Cortana, which this is what I always expected, would be the narrator of the movie.
2 of these rumors do contradict themselves. If the movie circles around Cortana, then I am almost sure that the movie will not be in first person. Actualy Halo was the most succesful first person shooter game of all time when the xbox came out, which is probally why this rumor is going around.
Cortana is an AI created from the brainwaves of Dr. Halsey. If this movie starts from the very beggening we would probally follow Dr. Halsey around as Cortana talks about what happened in past tense(she shares everything halsey knows, even the past before she was created). We would then see how John grew up to be Spartan 117.
The movie could start from when Cortana was created, and even if the story does revolve around Cortana, you have to remember that she is either dormant in a computer, speaking to military officails, or were she is for most of her life, in the helmate of Master Cheif.
These are all the possibilities you have if Cortana is the main character. No matter what you are getting a lot of master cheif... in his Spartan Suit or not.
