Ok, in this thread you simply post whatever bands, songs, or playlists you've been listening to recently. I don't believe this is a duplicate thread but I'm sorry if it is. One rule though- don't be a music snob/ elitist. A bit of debate is fine, but don't bully anyone out of the thread. If we're all respectful and open-minded, this is a great way to share music and maybe try something new.

The past few days I've been listening to a few songs by Wintersleep: "Nothing is Anything (Without You)" , "Weighty Ghost", and "Laser Beams." Aside from those, I haven't had much of a craving for anything in particular in the past few days and I've been using shuffle on my iPod.

Hey, nice one: I never got into Fear much, although a friend would pop in some tunes of theirs on some mix tapes he made me.

May I present to you, Fear: What If God's Not One of Us, and lemme include the lyrics:

Fear, "What If God's Not One of Us"

What if god makes jokes
With his big brain
And he's really
Sorry about all the pain
Watching humans
Writhe and cough
While he's busy
Laughing his *** off

What if God's Not one of us
What if God don't have
A master plan
Not more or less
Than any man

What if God's
An alien
And he don't really like humans
What if God
Rides in a U.F.O.
And maybe you don't wanna know
Well you think he's
Someone you can trust

Well what if God's
Not one of us
What if god's
Not really on our side
And the reverends, priests,
And rabbis lied
And we're just vermin
On the earthen crust
With no one to
Watch over us

Right now I'm listening to a fan. "Ffffffffffff," it says, peacefully whispering in the gentle night, blowing cool air without regard for its humble surroundings. What does it all mean? Does it beckon the darkness that has yet to come?

Getting in a poetic mood, eh Dusk in Egypt, hmm.

A fine track on the music in everything, Tony Gatlif (if even he being the actual composer/performer is correct, see onwards), Mécanique Garage. From his movie Vengo, the sequence to go with it would be here, starting at around 05:05. Right at the beginning of this movie excerpt btw you get treated to the stunning performance by La Paquera de Jerez, apparently entitled "Chant du baptême" on the soundtrack, however that would no doubt have to do with Gatlif's Roma-Berber-Algerian-French roots, the song would no doubt need to have a Spanish name. I've seen it doing the rounds as well as "Chant de la douleur," which inasmuch as it might translate back to "Canto del dolor/Canto dolorosa" or so would seem to make sense. In short, the movie and the soundtrack is very real, just those tracks' credits as found on the web it seems may have some spurious components to them.
