Ok, in this thread you simply post whatever bands, songs, or playlists you've been listening to recently. I don't believe this is a duplicate thread but I'm sorry if it is. One rule though- don't be a music snob/ elitist. A bit of debate is fine, but don't bully anyone out of the thread. If we're all respectful and open-minded, this is a great way to share music and maybe try something new.
The past few days I've been listening to a few songs by Wintersleep: "Nothing is Anything (Without You)" , "Weighty Ghost", and "Laser Beams." Aside from those, I haven't had much of a craving for anything in particular in the past few days and I've been using shuffle on my iPod.
Taking time to show my immense respect for some of the founders of rock n roll...
Chuck Berry - No Particular Place To Go
Fats Domino - Blueberry Hill (2002 remaster)
Ritchie Valens - Donna (single version)
I can hardly believe that I listen to and like the same stuff that my grandparents do. Old folks are right, this stuff is timeless. If you don't understand, you are an un-American idiot and your understanding of RnR is very bad. I know that the music isn't super deep, but that time was a golden age in American history... and what does my generation sing along to? Disturbed, System of a Down, and Korn. Bands like these these are good because the tell the tale of the times and I like them, but I would prefer to have grown up in '50s rather than with the Mellennial Generation. Dang, I respect old music more, like cars from the 50s through 70s more than anything today, and envy the 50s surfer and carefree cruising lifestyle my grandparents talk about. Today everything is so effing multi cultural and big picture internationalism centered. Back then you could go to the beach to meet girls, and now you go there to get assaulted by tattoo covered gang bangers (in more places than youd think).
