Ok, in this thread you simply post whatever bands, songs, or playlists you've been listening to recently. I don't believe this is a duplicate thread but I'm sorry if it is. One rule though- don't be a music snob/ elitist. A bit of debate is fine, but don't bully anyone out of the thread. If we're all respectful and open-minded, this is a great way to share music and maybe try something new.
The past few days I've been listening to a few songs by Wintersleep: "Nothing is Anything (Without You)" , "Weighty Ghost", and "Laser Beams." Aside from those, I haven't had much of a craving for anything in particular in the past few days and I've been using shuffle on my iPod.
I'm listening to my roommate and his girlfriend take turns snoring. It's almost musical, since they snore at different frequencies at different times, but they have the same breathing rhythm, so I could put it to a beat and it could pass for some form of basic music. It's about the same beat and tempo as "Money for Nothing" by the Dire Straits, and the fan being on gives this makeshift tune a little bit of depth.
I'm only listening to them because I'm tracing back the history of my favorite band Abominable Putridity. The lead vocalist is the same singer in Pathology, which was created by the drummer of Cattle Decapitation, who was originally the drummer for The Locust.
The Locust is one of the only bands I would consider "NoiseCore". Horrible, but mostly because it's ALL punk. Cattle Decapitation is slightly better, in the fact that they aren't pure noise. It is Deathgrind (Meaning that it has already been determined to be pure ****, and any other "grind" band). I don't recommend either of those bands, obviously. Pathology is a slamming Death Metal band with very slight "grind" influences that are very unnoticeable. By far the heaviest and most innovating band I have ever heard, and I would recommend anyone to listen to them. Abominable Putridity is the newest band that comes from the same singer, and is pure slamming Death Metal. Nothing but raging and unrelenting heavy metal riffs, no breakdowns, etc.. Best band I ever heard, simply because they decided not to take ANY influence from the "core" or "grind" genres.
