Ok, in this thread you simply post whatever bands, songs, or playlists you've been listening to recently. I don't believe this is a duplicate thread but I'm sorry if it is. One rule though- don't be a music snob/ elitist. A bit of debate is fine, but don't bully anyone out of the thread. If we're all respectful and open-minded, this is a great way to share music and maybe try something new.

The past few days I've been listening to a few songs by Wintersleep: "Nothing is Anything (Without You)" , "Weighty Ghost", and "Laser Beams." Aside from those, I haven't had much of a craving for anything in particular in the past few days and I've been using shuffle on my iPod.

Pepper by Butthole Surfers

Ah! Butthole Surfers, Cherub. (Play very loud.)
Creep in the Cellar.
I Saw an X-Ray of a Girl Passing Gas.
John E. Smoke.

When I finally did get to see them live um some twenty years ago or so btw, god what a bunch of %^& stoneheads who couldn't keep up a chord nor a pretense of being interested in their audience & didn't know how fast to get off the stage to get back on with whatever they were up to.

... Then to sign off on that note, (all together now) The Pixies, Where Is My Mind.

Y'all may know this from the closing scene of the movie Fight Club (and how fitting it is there, too!), which however it predates by a good bit.

Then ps re: Butthole Surfers, how indeed could I have forgotten the classic "Sweat Loaf."

... One final (I swear! Well, almost... ) Butties track I missed, Human Cannonball.

Must be in direct reference you'd think to Bob Dylan's "It's Alright Ma (I'm Only Bleeding)"; I happen to be partial to The Byrds' Roger McGuinn's version from Easy Rider.

Being in the musical mood that we're in, how's about Jane's Addiction again, e.g. their Pig's In Zen. No, don't ask me what it's about, but it sounds mighty deep, doesn't it

Inbetween any modern old post-punk pyschedelic rock btw, I've been listening to the Ages Compilation Soundtrack

Only discovered there is such a thing on the Age of Empires collector's edition DVD when recently I reinstalled it -- remains a fun game, too! -- & noticed there's a not-so obvious extra install button there at bottom.

It's not bad for what it is, pretty mellow loungy music. Hmmm, credits look to be here: http://www.stephenrippy.com/soundtracks/ages_compilation/credits.html .
