I am a christian, i and i strongly belive in my lord jesus christ, and i also belive that if you belive in him and except him as your savior, u will go to heaven. and i also believe that he created the world, not the big bang, or that we came from stupid apes.

you only have two options. either jesus was the messiah or he was a wack job.

Jesus could have been a fictional construct.

Jesus could have been just very revolutionary for his time.

Jesus could have been any mix of the above.

Disregarding the first point (it's a generally held belief that he was an actual person).

Here.

Care to present said proof in the form of a link or leastwise verbally?

Belief doesn't make something real. While given some of the supposed accounts, it is likely Jesus was based on a real person. There isn't enough evidence to completely rule out the possibility he was completely fictional either.

Outside of the Bible, your going to get a bunch of third hand accounts (some of which are likely forgeries), possibly an empty tomb, and someone might try to hold up the Shroud of Toran (also a likely fake).

There are other written accounts of Jesus Christ other than the bible. His existence is very likely. His voodoo magic, not so likely.

They have a tomb in the area Jesus lived entitled "Jesus Christ" so I assume that's his. There are records of a Jesus of Nazareth, though I don't have the link.

The link for his tomb would be

I do believe Jesus lived and God is real, but this tomb is ludacrous. It's a house. I frown on your research.

I stopped reading when I saw he went to India. It's ludicrous. This idea formed 2000 years after Jesus died. If he really had gone to India, the proof would have been found sooner.

Not really. It was so long ago. But it's likely because it says preached while he was alive, so there were witnesses. Of course, if he had kept himself strangely hidden people might have ignored this religion, and there wouldn't be any Christians today.

I don't like to give my opinion on wether Atheism is true or Christianity. It's an argument that's been going on for a long time, and my say will have little effect on it.

Wait, Wait, wait a minute, Hold your horses there,
I Think some people in here don't get "the bible"
All the magic and healing is not LITERALLY
it's subjective, a way of expressing his deed, but then, in a way everyone can understand it. Somehow.

Which of these two sounds the easiest:

"And then jesus converted the non-believer into a believer in god; just with wise words"

or

"And with one touch, the blind man could see"

It is easier for normal people to understand the second one, in fact.

But that first post about "dumb apes"
and such

That's just Very ignorant.

My suggestion: Do some research, and don't believe what your teachers, or your parents tell you to believe.

A question i have been asking myself for a VERY long time, and will probably create a thread on it:

If people were born, and then left behind all lonely,
Would they believe in one "god"
(i mean, if people wouldn't be pushed to believe etc)
Would they?
My guess: they'd have other things to mind.

I agree, I was simply saying it shouldn't be completely dismissed that he was fictional.

"And then jesus converted the non-believer into a believer in god; just with wise words"

I find this one easier to understand and a lot more truthful. There are many things in the Bible that really have to get twisted all around for it to work in such a context.

My suggestion: Do some research, and don't believe what your teachers, or your parents tell you to believe.

"Do the research for yourself" That's pretty much what I would say to my kids if I ever have any. I will give them the chance to experience other belief systems, I will tell them what I think, but they will have to decide on there own.

Atheists Are People , Whats so wrong about being Atheist?? Just because we believe in different things. I have nothing against Christians . Nobody should . Christians are nice people . Nice religion.

I am friends with a Christian family they are all nice people. Nice, Calm people . So Atheists & Christians can be friends even though they believe in different stuff . We believe in Evolution , Christians believe in God.

So there's no need for this thread to exist. if it was a simple question such as "can you compare these two religions?" then it would be alright. But by putting 'V.S' into the title, it's giving the impression that these two religions should be against eachother. Salvation is supposed to be universal.

as far as i know atheism isn't a religion.
an atheist is someone who doesn't believe in god or any other kind of religious aspects. (isn't he?)
please correct me if i'm wrong

One of the best arguments against god.
Let's say a good and allmighty thing excists. God if you like.
If he isn't allmighty, he isn't really worth to be called a god. A good man, but nothing more than that.
If he isn't good, it isn't really a good example for us and not worthy being called a god.
Now, because that god person is good and allmighty, how do you explain all the bad things that happens and happend to the world?
BTW, if christianity is the one religion to believe, why did christians started to pop up only 2000 years ago?
