This thread is about the Quests for rogue-like game Labyrinth: Secrets of ShadowHaven. Help the folks below, some of these Quests are very challenging.
Acid Drop Lure an enemy into an acid pool. Hardness: Easy
Sky Commander Get the Wings. Hardness: Medium
Breaking and Entering Break into a Boss Battle without Destroying all the Orbs First. Hardness: Medium
Ammo Ambush Reach 99 Ammo. Hardness: Medium
Power Presence Collect all 7 Permanent Upgrades in One Game. Hardness: Medium
Decided to try it in Chrome again. No lag. No crash (in the 3 levels I played). Full screen worked beautifully. Cake seems a bit less in regular level, noticeably less in boss level.
I don't know if anyone has suggested a weapon "choice" yet: it would be great to choose between rockets and grenades, depending on the boss level.
I can confirm that the lag is gone once you switch to full screen with FireFox! The fact that I'm still at a level 6 boss fight-then die-stage in the game is still feeding my rage meter to maximum ... bad for the heart... =)
For me, it still lags a little bit with Firefox even with fullscreen, but only in higher levels and with boss fights.
@MrDayCee: keep trying! I've reached level 13 several times (I'm not trying to make you jealous, believe me, lol). If I can, then everyone can do it. Patience
If this is going to comfort you, boss at level 22 (6 of them actually), is much more difficult then level 6 boss, especially on acid ground!
I know what you mean, this really can be a stressful experience. Try to imagine this: I was just one step in achieving the Lucky 13 quest, and guess what happened, I killed boss, and on my way to the exit I got clipped by the laser beam. Game over!
Anyway,do you recognize the music between the levels?
All of the bosses can push you out of the arena if you're in the corner and they jump on you. Also, there's a pause effect that immobilizes you after you stay paused for an extended period of time.
If you can send me a vid of the boss sending you out of the arena, or some more details on what exactly causes it (so I can reproduce it) I can try to fix it in an update. Also, make sure you're playing on v1.19.
I once had every permanent power-up except for wings, the daft punk helm, and 2 attack power, and when facing the third boss blew myself up twice in a row with rockets and died. So, I guess I will tell new people advantages and disadvantages to each weapon.
Grenades: Pros: Can be used a trap (throw and lure an enemy to it) Cons: Doesn't go very far (must get right next to something) Rockets: Pros: A lot of range (can be used to easily beat bosses) Cons: The random angle on the launch may result in shooting it at the ground in front of you (you will get hit)
Personally, I think rockets are better because of the range, but they are risky.
I usually jump when I shoot a rocket to avoid it hitting the ground.
Also, undocumented feature: hold up when throwing a grenade to throw it farther hold down to throw it at your feet hold nothing to do a mid-range throw
Are there really 6 bosses to fight at level 22? Wow!
Level 22 ... I mean ... (oO) ... seriously!?! (OO)
I detected a little annoying aspect of the Super Jump Boots... once you have them and you start out in a new level that has the entrance boxed in with only a 1 cube wide exit from that place on either side, you are stuck there untill you get lucky to time your left/right after jumping... I once jumped for several minutes at a level 5 run and then decided to give up and start new, because it happens a lot. =/
Hm, yeah, I've heard people complain about this and experienced it myself. I usually just tap jump and am able to get through, but I'll look into ironing out that wrinkle. I need to think about how I can do that without breaking other parts of the game though...
I bet it has something to do with the level building algorythm which isn't easy to alter without screwing up more of the game entirely, right?
Another strange thing that happened was this... I was fighting the 2 bosses at level 7 (Yay! Finally progressed -one- more level!! But wait... continue reading...) and right at the moment of me shooting a rocket at the 'sword-lizard' and simultaniously trying to jump in the other direction, the 'ghost-lizard' had spawned meteors that hit me, the 'sword-lizard' struck me and my dragon froze in mid-air-jump, flickering between normal posture and wearing the Daft Punk helmet!?!
Screenshot right after the freeze...
I tried pausing the game and hitting any other button, but nothing reacted...
