Yep, it's next week! The Australian Grand Prix is almost there! There are so many changes this year. Felipe Massa might actually win the championship if things remains the same but we know from experience that it won't.
Because of the new turbo engines, breaking power and the ERS kicking hard once the drivers accelerate, the cars want to do a 180 degrees, there might be a record crash in Monaco this year. :O
I can't wait to see how they'll negotiate the tight hairpin right before going down in the tunnel and also the exit leading to the harbor.
Man that's going to be EXCITING!!! xD
After that they'll be in Montreal (Notre Dame island) which is also a tricky circuit and since I used to ride my MB there, I pretty much know it.
It's a pretty flat circuit except for a slight uphill turn leading to the St-Lawrence river side.
I feeling a bit nostalgic right now. I miss going there, smell all the flowers, being attacked by birds protecting their nest (springtime) pocking me on the helmet, and also doing tricks on my bike, playing soccer and having picnics. ;(
The only circuits I've ever been on is Zandvoort, but I've visited Spa-Franchorchamps and Zolder off-track though. I bet there's going to be trouble right after the start in Monaco! Can't wait to be honest... is... that bad? =P
Alonso recorded the fastest time in practice 2. If he repeats that in practice 3, watch out for him in qualif. because this guy thrives went the stakes are high.
Rosberg, Hamilton, Ricciardo finished in first, second and third positions.
Alonso had a great race and finished 4th.
Raikkonen had an amazing race until some idiot hit him from behind during the safety car period, causing a puncture, forcing him to make an extra pit stop, he finished 12th.
The Marussia team finally scored a point so that was good for them.
My final comment is about Hamilton.
I'm starting to lose respect for him because of his diva attitude toward the team. He needs to grow up and quit winning because Mercedes won't put up with his crap and will ditch him at the end of the season.
I mean with all the great stuff going for this team, they don't need this negativity.
Had to work last Sunday, so I will have to catch a re-run when I find the time. This means the race wasn't that exciting and the diva in Lewis has returned? =)

I was expecting a carnage at the start but only one car didn't make it. Every races in Monaco are interesting no matter what. What I got from this race is that the Mercedes team is still in a league of it's own and Hamilton is not as good as he think he is. I wish Massa would have won instead of him back in Brazil 2008.
Ricciardo wins the Montreal GP, Rosberg finished 2nd and Vettel 3rd.
There was a lot of action. At first I thought, okay the Mercedes team will finish 1st and 2nd but they had some break issues so Hamilton had to retire.
Ricciardo had an amazing race and he totally deserved this win.
Poor Felipe Massa looked like he could have finished 4th but he ran into Perez who apparently made a stupid move and his race was over on the last lap. Both cars ended up pretty much demolished.
The two Marussia drivers took each other out on the first lap which resulted in 8 laps behind the safety car.
Overall it was an action packed GP.
Still missed the Monaco GP, but I won't be watching a re-run though... =/
However, I just saw the Canada GP re-run and... (oO) ... WHAT... A... RACE!!!!!!! =D
Oh-mah-gawd... I already heard the final results a few days ago, but they made me consider wathing the re-run today and I'm glad I did!! This was -by far- the best Formula 1 Grand Prix I have seen this season! Action packed right 'till the very end!! =)
The beginning showed yet another 1-2 finish for the Mercedes' cars (ugh), but after a few laps it showed that this could be another battle of the team mates like we had before... hmmm... Hamilton was quickly catching Rosberg at some point, but had to retire in the end. Indeed, both cars had the same problem with the brake-by-wire system and even though Hamilton was forced to stop, Rosberg somehow managed to finish the race, which is a tremendous job! Really well done on his behalf! *applauds* (still don't like the guy, heh)
Ricciardo managed to win the race, which is an AWESOME job! (I wonder how long it will be untill the @Strop will pop up in here and talk about his #1 racer in F1?) Ricciardo kept pushing up to the very edge in order to keep the pressure on Perez and eventually pass him with a great move! Then the mental laws took over and he got himself some wings to catch Rosberg in no-time! Really, really good job on his first win and awesome for the sport! This is exactly what we (and the sport) needed... =)
And to finish... the crashes... the crashes!!! Man they were great... even though I feel sorry for the Marussia team for losing their two cars (but with a great crash from Chilton and Bianchi, *giggles* ahem *cough* sorry...) and for Massa especially (because he might even have caught Vettel during the last round, maybe...) for being launched off the track in the most spectacular way! Imagine my experience while watching: Felipe's crash was even predicted by the Dutch commentator 6/7 laps before it happened! Not those two cars exactly, but the crash being at the end of the race... go figure! I had a blast!! LOL
I am really hoping that this is the turning point for an end to the Mercedes supremacy and in fact will be the start of a more evenly devided field in Formula 1, making room for more battles, more excitement and more diverse GP winners! My enthusiastic fire for the sport has been ignited once again! Bring it on! =)
Michael Schumacher out of coma and has left hospital, manager says Seven-time F1 champion had been in induced coma in Grenoble hospital since skiing accident in December
Anne Penketh in Paris for www.theguardian.com, Monday 16 June 2014 12.27 BST
Former Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher is no longer in a coma and has left the Grenoble hospital where he has been treated since a skiing accident in the Alps five months ago, his spokeswoman said on Monday.
"Michael has left the CHU Grenoble [hospital] to continue his long phase of rehabilitation. He is not in a coma anymore," his spokeswoman, Sabine Kehm, said in a statement.
A spokesman for the University Hospital of Lausanne later said Schumacher, who lives with his family in a town in western Switzerland between Lausanne and Geneva, had arrived on Monday morning but declined to say what unit he was being treated in.
The announcement came after a German magazine, Bunte, reported last Friday that the 45-year old champion had been moved from the Grenoble hospital's intensive care department, where he had been in a medically induced coma, into a rehabilitation unit. The magazine reported that Schumacher was "out of danger", although his chances of a full recovery had diminished. It said that preparations were under way to move him to a specialised rehabilitation clinic.
Schumacher sustained life-threatening head injuries after falling on to a rock while skiing with friends in the resort of Meribel, in the French Alps, on 29 December. He underwent two operations in Grenoble to remove blood clots on the brain.
Monday's communique was the first issued by Kehm since 4 April, when she said that the Formula 1 legend was making "small signs of progress" and was showing "some moments of communication".
But since then, former Formula 1 doctor, Gary Hartstein, wrote on his blog earlier this month that he feared the worst, given the lack of information from Schumacher's family. He said he was "quite afraid, and virtually certain, we will never have any good news about Michael".
Kehm thanked the doctors and nurses at Grenoble hospital and the rescue services who rushed him from the scene of the accident. She said they had done "an excellent job in those first months".
The statement also expressed gratitude for messages of support which she said had surely helped the injured former champion.
But she also asked for privacy while Schumacher's "further rehabilitation" took place "away from the public eye".
The seven-time Formula 1 champion has a home on the shores of Lake Geneva. It was reported in March that his wife Corinna had spent £10million on building a medical suite in the mansion there.
This is great news!!! Even though he is a long way from recovery and he will most likely never be his former self again, I still think this is awesome news! Der Schumi is still with us!! =D

Yeah that's a great news! If it weren't for him, the F1 GP would have remained boring because Williams kept winning with the equally boring Damon Hill. Everything changed when Schumacher showed up with Benetton (inferior car at the beginning) and started terrorizing David Coulthard at first then he was on the heel of Damon Hill. The rest is history. Also, even though I'm not a fan of Vettel, he is a product of Schumacher whom inspired him to become a racer.

I feel the same way about Vettel... he is a fantastic racing talent, that needs to be reconed with at all times and deserves nothing but respect for his performance on the race track, but... off track? Nah, sorry... this guy would never become my friend at this moment in time. Maybe if we sat down to be honest over a couple of beers? Meh... who knows, you can never tell! But now, nope... =)
Williams takes the first two places during the qualifications. Massa 1st, Bottas 2nd, and Rosberd 3rd place, Alonso qualified 4th. I can't wait for tomorrow's race!
