Hi, I am level 3142, and I am going to be the first to get a grade 100 gem.
How did I get specs obscenely high? Well, thanks to this dude over here...
One important thing to note is how to create dual gems. Adding two grade one's them spamming U is losing about 33% special power.
Optimal creation is a G1 of both, combine, make a G2 of each, add one pure to each dual, combine the G3s, duplicate, and repeat with pure G4s, duplicate the 6, etc.

Note that the hit count is the same, and the cost to duplicate is the same. This is a difference of 32.9%, and this difference keeps rising at higher levels. It's only a 16% difference at grade 6. It takes a decent amount of time, but it is worth it at ultimate grades (45+).
I now have huge specs. It takes me about 20-30 seconds real life time to get +1 grade. So a minute before +2(needed if want extra specs). I estimate my specs to be about 80% higher than normal, at least blood is.
PS- Level 46 amps got the spec treatment too, they are wicked.
yes its pointless to manafram from towers. but just on a testrun this morning i had 4 million hits on my manafram gem in a trap. i placed it in a tower just to see what happens. and i got 20 million hits within one wave! after that i put it back in my trap. so hit-lvl increasing in a tower is easy. but i still dont get it why hits per sec are still caped in a trap
These are same-value with same value amps gems, one before and one after last nerf.
First one is present, second is past.
OK, I used new technique in the first one which gave me roughly 1.3 boost to mana/hit. But they are still nearly the same mana/hit with old better for a factor 1.5. It still isn't much - due to some mess with trap shooting speed or something I receive 4x more mana than mana/hit indicates.
To sum up, my gems are 2x more efficient due to firing speed buff.
The bloodbound nerf might not be as bad, due to the tower firing speed boosting hits to crazy levels and one of our fellow Gods psorek still testing like crazy. I might just flood a super slower trap with 10k+, maybe 20k+ monsters and farm hits with the mana gem.
few notes since i didnt play much in the last week
the new gemming technique is a bit vague to me i only skimmed through it briefly but looking at the g86 equiv gem cronos posted with e21 mana per hit, it was definately on pace for g100 happening
i had a game open with v1.15 loaded last night still that was 2 weeks old and i was about to scrap my current gem to rebuild it with the new supergem method to an 86 or so (what i could afford) and would have been on pace to keep that game open till 100, sadly though these nerfs seem pretty hard.
the firing speed change doesnt really decrease the time it takes to get to grade 100 in real life time, it just slows down the game more about proportional to the mana gain increase, the computer only processes x amount of hits per second regardless
the tower for hits will help but not all that much, its still capped at a speed and the blood gem hit levels grow exponentially so even if this got your gem from 1b -> 100b hits it might only result in maybe a 30% mana gain

that recelty posted gem even with the newer method i assume, isnt even better than the outdated gem i was using before, about tied
well this definately sucks but im gonna start a nwe game tomorrow afternoon maybe somone will make some progress to re-reaching the levels of gems like the one cronos made right before the patch
its funny the necessary breakthroughs for a 100 gem happen and immediately the nerf comes
